zombie Report post Posted December 14, 2008 Hey, i'm not sure i should post this here or at all, so be patient with it please. Trying to look something on the channel due game, while messages keep running "up and down", can make you dizzy if not frustrate. So my suggestion is simple, could it be a "search tool" for looking exactly what you need, like in any other net page? I guess that if u have "copy" and "paste" now, this shouldn't be so hard :-) Thanx, Zombie

LabRat Report post Posted December 14, 2008 You mean like the #find command? Go into Console mode type #find labrat (or whatever the search term) press Enter
bkc56 Report post Posted December 14, 2008 I may have missed it, but it would be good to have it listed in the in-game encyclopedia (I didn't see it under "text commands"). Wonder how many other undocumented commands there are out there...
Alberich Report post Posted December 14, 2008 You mean like the #find command? Go into Console mode type #find labrat (or whatever the search term) press Enter I believe this is broken, it jumps anywhere but not to the searched term.
Aislinn Report post Posted December 14, 2008 It seems to work for me...nothing is highlighted but I end up on the correct "page" for the word I searched for (it's most recent appearance).
zombie Report post Posted December 14, 2008 (edited) You mean like the #find command? Go into Console mode type #find labrat (or whatever the search term) press Enter OK, and what if this name (whatever i'm looking) is showing more then once on the channel? dose it "jumps like in any other net page? could add "next" or "back" oppositions to this #FIND command. also, highlight it wont be bad idea, so i know where i'm. non that i knew about this commend, it doesn't shown the the encyclopedia. You can use ctrl-up arrow and resend the command until you find the instance you are looking for. As people have already stated it is much simpler to just search your chat log, it is just a text file after all. In windows I would suggest wordpad to open it rather than notepad - notepad struggles with large files. Either that or google grep windows
zombie Report post Posted December 14, 2008 (edited) You can use ctrl-up arrow and resend the command until you find the instance you are looking for. looks too encumbered to me. why not make it simple? Edited December 14, 2008 by zombie
