Now that Astrology is implemented...

EL is supposed to be a classless game.. you can do what you want when you want .. doesnt this change that ? if you cant fight when you want to

It is but the labels have been made. And the system does force some to either not play or do stuff they didnt want to do because of their negs. Some people arent as rich as others..so if we want to train and get good xp, we have to use good armor sometimes (not all the time). The break rate scares us who arent EL rich because that means more stuff we will have to do to earn gc to get armor back that breaks.

are all bad modifiers supposed to happen? i was inclined to think that some would be good while others bad, but not all bad, like this..

Yes my stats went from all bad to all good during the day, why isn't it random?

 

And I think the system will suck if you can only see 1 modifier per stone since it changes so fast and because there are so many modifiers. There is no easy posibility to check what you should do today.

yeah your having the same problem as me and a lot of players.. the stats are bad no matter what you want to do.. :)

not trying to bitch here, just want a fair critique. Stats were pretty good in the morning when i logged on, i had +760 degrade and -500 rares at one point. but all of em bad is just unfair :)

I personally like the idea of the Astrology and haven't had a chance to try it out enough but can see definite positives to the game.

 

Why do people who level A/D complain about being "negative". Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that what people who go TS are doing - intentionally using a "penalty" to their advantage?

 

What this may force people to do is to THINK! Oh My (Dislexic) DOG! It will free up some spawns as people adjust to which animals/mobs they can train on most effectively. It'll give some the chance to move up and try something harder that they couldn't normally kill and sometimes they'll have to move down to train on something easier as they're having a "bad" day.

 

Whether or not the effects are too big? I can't say as I haven't done enough yet. Is it true that potioning, crafting and engineering don't have modifiers? Any plans to implement these in the future? No reason I can think of why the Stars wouldn't impact this aspect of life in EL as well.

Ok i posted earlier in Help Me -->Astrological Restart(obviosly the wrong place) :unsure: and took the advice from Nidan and have had a read at most of the threads reference this, it has become a bit more clearer, thanx Nidan :) . Maybe i havn't been so hard done by after reading majestyk's thread(Pg 1). I also think it would be a little more clearer in a %. Thanx to all

Ok, I made a mistake, the Defense modifier was not modified, and was left to 10% rather than the intended 5%. I will rectify this problem soon (server restart tonight).

 

As for thos every unhappy about the astrology system, stop bitching. Like I said, I'll make a perk if the demand will be high enough in one week. Of course, removing that perk will be VERY expensive, and only for $$$ (500 USD). This is sort of a bitch tax, for those who prematurely bitched and took the perk, then realized they actually wanted astrology.

What if some newbie takes the perk? What if someone takes the perk next month after testing it out and after 2 months wants to go back?

What if a newbie takes the perk without knowing? Doesnt seem fair for the lower level players who are unaware. Maybe make the perk available to a certain level?

That's there will be a 20K-30K fee to take that perk, to prevent newbies from taking it before being informed properly.

Oh i dont wanna bitch.. but even after reading this and the other threads like 4 times i still dont

understand the system lol. After all i just go on as if the Astrology System aint there. i just dont

care about it and i didnt noticed any difference yet in my training so.. *insert the ebul F word here* it :)

 

Anyways i think the idea all around aint that bad i just think it may be to complex (is that even the right word?) for newcomers and some other ppl, which ppl prolly will do the same like me and just dont care about

it...

No, it will not dissapear with reset.

The reason why other perks are not removable for $$$ is that they cost pick points, so removing the perk would mean that we sell stats.

But since this perk will not cost pick points, it's ok.

All so far i've seen that are unhappy with the stats saying they are all negative, did have at least one positive. You just have to learn to read them is all. I personally like the system so far, even though my stats were pretty much the same as the ppl who 'had all neg'.

I dont quite understand this.

from what got... the top = bonus Actual = what % bonus are

higher = better = make rare, acc, att, def, to hit,

lower = better = Degrade, harvest event

Dont get = To damage, Failure, Magic

Hmm if theres an opt out perk, wont that mean that basically all the fighters will opt out in the long run ?

 

I dunnoh but if i was a fighter i wouldnt like the idea of one of my rivals having the opt out and me not.

 

Wont this also go for mixers in the long run ?

 

Because wont they think '' that sod has the opt out and so his failures are allways normal AND !! his chance to make special items are normal when mine are allways up and down ''

 

If theres an opt out perk, something tells me that in the long run everyones going to opt out, meaning that the only people left with the astrology system will be those brave enough to want to risk getting the benefits and new players who cant afford the money to pay for it.

 

And then, in my scenario , you will have well informed noobs gathering 30kgc worth of lilacs for the perk as one of the first things they ever do !

 

It just seems that to have the opt out perk is kind of admitting that it has a detrimental effect, when in fact, this is the first day its ever been on and people are not giving it a chance

 

I mean come on, give it a chance its not ALLWAYS going to have a bad effect on you

Maybe I am just boring, but I dont need positive/negative effects, if it all comes down to the same average afterall. Reason is I can do all things in the same way, at any time, instead of contantly little changes in everything I do, whether theyre positive or negative.

 

For training, the changes, both positive/negative, can result both positively as negatively.

 

P.S. I dont call this bitching, I just give my Opinion, on how I Think about this.

I'm siding with Entropy as well.

This is something new. We have to learn how it works and try it for a while. It hasn't been 24 hours yet! Give it a chance....

 

So far as I've seen in channels today, noone has died due to astrology (I jumped in front of that Chimmie all by myself!) The actual results of the modifiers don't have a tragic effect on anything that can't be fixed by adjustment. For all of us (including myself) who got lousy stars all across the board, the answer is simple: It's in the stars, Daddy-O!! Wake up! Tomorrow maybe you be surrounded by fauns or fairies catering to your every need! Maybe not. Meanwhile the values change during the day and then change every day (six RL hours.)

 

I was a bit worried about losing the #da command but then one's spiritual magic sneaks up on one with unpredictable results.... to me that's called 'mystery', 'thrills', 'variety', 'fun'! Remember, we're not playing 'Pong' here! Variables are what make EL more exciting than, say, Daimonin, which for some reason keeps taking top spot on the vote site.......

 

But I digress.

Let's give it some time, Entropy can always tweak the values and he needs intelligent input not how many EFE's you didn't might've made because your skills were in Uranus! Give it time, it's astrology, everything is in the stars, and the stars are controlled by teh God.

 

And if I don't shut up, teh God gonna make me see stars, that's in my horrorscope! :)

Yes, he has already changed some values.

 

Maybe the complaints are actually good... because I would think if everyone was happy, we'd of never decovered that the harvesting event rates were a "little" off and the defense wasn't changed.

 

But I do say, give it time, changes may/will be done if it's needed. :)

 

oh yeah, goodluck with the ones that get the perk :/

Umm, no?

The fighters that use the system properly can have a significant advantage over those who do not. I see quite a few ways to do that, but I won't talk about them until I implement that perk and people start taking it.
