    "Real life" astrologists claim the moment of birth determines the effects of astrology, seems to be the same for EL... Otoh, I'd expect the moment of character creation to determine where in the different cycles the character is placed at that moment. And I would expect the same curves to be used for all players, so you basically have a phase difference between players. This both keeps the coding simple, and the players on the same level (no "super characters" that have an advantage due to moment of "birth").

    without seeing the astro codes, to which i think its better if we don't because there has to be some mystery involved, even if it is el logic, there could be individual high points in the astrology based on when a player is created, there seems to be several bands a player falls into and stays there like two of mine always have opposite astro. there may be day and month high points that alter the predictable point of the astro bar itself or maybe its just alot simpler than that and i'm over thinking it.

If i do trade a lot with bots or want fast to go back to last talked line of chat line while in normal window, it happens a lot to me that my mouse rests on either inventory storage or trade Dialoge, which means those dialogs gets resized instead that the indented action is taken place. I was wondering if we could not make a submenu point either in option or at those windows in question to keep them at the size that was set up in first place and not taking up the key actions instead

    Its impossible to "watch" a rate of 1/10000. Variance can be 1 in every 100000 or 2 in 1000. Variance will be huge. Only way to know is if the developer says he checked the code and says it looks fine, which he did.

    Yes to all three of Kaddy's ideas too! And can we make the harm message include the amount of damage we did? Is that part of the same idea? I can't see that info ever, either. No idea how anybody can see any of this information in a battle as it stands now. I know I can't.

    You also know that your ban would be for at least a month, and that you were supposed to come back here after that month had passed... (At least, that's what I told someone claiming to be the owner of Gigicu, but under a different forum name...) On my calendars, the period of may 13th to may 23th is 10 days, not one month... Come back in a month...

    While we are at it, can we modify the "taken damage" height or an option to make it higher or lower, or darker in colour, or have some kind of bold/glowy effect? Height is: when you are in instance mode, you can make your hp bar/numbers higher but it's hard to keep track since the damage on you is shown at a very low level (at least it's hard for me ) Also, if we can change the damage taken colour, it would be really great to differ from mobs and players, like golden colour would be great.

    I like the idea of having super rare puzzle pieces and the use of gods.. I like the idea of xp being subtracted (but not losing pickpoints already gained) to put these items together in a useful way as well. And using the god npcs is as good as any. I dont like the musket itself, but could be something else. The general premise is good of having super rare items that are put together like a puzzle over a long span of time.

I was powerkilling some beavers and brownies these last days , and out of straight grinding booredem i started thinking : - what if besides the tokens, you can get some super rare items (1 drop per creature per 5000000 global killed creatures for example maybe less than that ) and what should sed items be used for ? - how would it affect the player afterwards ? - what will you do with this items ? - pros and cons for finishing this ultimate quest ? So i came up with this , a endgamish weapon that can only be made from this super rare droped items from basic creatures to higher lvled creatures. This drops should be in the form of creature box, and uppon opening it you would be asked if you wanna keep the items inside and accept the negative perk that comes with it . The ideea is the old gods whant to seed chaos into the land and have planted this abomination boxes in creatures , and if you accept to KEEP them you get a negative perk from the actual gods. So what kind of weapon could bring chaos to the land ? The only answer that makes any logic is a musket , but to get there you have to sacrifice alot. So the ideea is this: - you need 9 boxes, 3 from lower lvl , 3 medium lvl and 3 high lvl mobs , so 3 boxes per tier of mobs. Example : you kill beavers for example and get a box drop, the negative perk that comes when u open the box and keep the item could be that you no longer get any rare drop from this creature and the beaver will automaticaly attack you from now on . If you get all the boxes from all the 3 bottom tier creatures , open them and accept the items you get the ultimate negative perk (all the bottom tier creatures will attack you and you wont get any tokens BUT just from the 3 creatures that drop the box ... so win win situation of sort. This mechanics should apply to the other tiers also. The next negative side of this ultimate quest should be that you have to trick the actual gods into working the items from the boxes for you . So we can imagine : Attack god - trick him into making you the trigger mechanism : after making it you get a 50 lvl reduction based on xp from the maximum game attack lvl Ideea is this is for maxed out players that will loose 50 lvls from all the skills involved so from 178 attack you get set back to 128 Maybe lower lvls players can do it also but the 50 lvls need to be calculated from xp to maximum lvl , so if hes 170 for example he will loose more then 50 lvls Defense god - trick him into making you the bayonet : same penalty as above Harvest god - trick him into harvesting flint from an box item : same penalty as above Alchemy god - trick him into mixing all the enriched essence into 1 essence you will need for the musket: same penalty as above ( 10 of each enriched ess maybe needed for the mix ? ) Potion god - trick him into mixing black powder for you : same penalty as above Manu god - trick him into mixing you iron ball mould : same penalty as above Crafting - trick him into mixing you the first boullet : same penalty as above Eng god - trick him into mixing the blueprints for the weapon : same penalty as above Ranging god - trick him into mixing the manual for it : same penalty as above The requierment of the old gods to make this weapon is to have tricked all the actual gods They will make you the weapon and open up 8 quest to the old gods that will reward you with : - "Pied Piper" perk , it will give you better rat token drops since the firing of the musket will necesit masive action points. - black powder harvest knowledge - black fire ess knowledge ( essence needed to fire the weapon ) - black powder mixing knowledge ( potion based item needed to fire the weapon) - boullet mould knowledge ( manu based item needed to craft boullets ) - boullets making knowledge ( crafting based item ) - spare parts knowledge ( eng based items needed to repair your own musket ) - musket manual knowlegde ( ideea is any1 can use the musket but only the players with this knowledge will get massive ranging xp and get to use the weapon to its full potential , maybe a shop item should be available but only the players who complete the quest will use the weapon with its full stats ) So the person who made all this sacrifices, gets to do the old gods quest and the items he gets to make as a result of the knowledge will have massive xp rewards as to get back the lvls he sacrificed tricking the actual gods So we can imagine 3x xp for def and attack when using the muscket in bayonet mode 3x xp for ranging and higher xp the harvest, alch, pot, manu, craft, eng, all skills needed to play with this new weapon What do you guys think ? Good ideea ? To hard to implement in the game ? Trash ideea ? Sorry for the long read

    What I mean is that if astro itself doesn't do the opposite effect. I've been watching my efe's rate and when I am in green, I made less efe's than when at 0.
  18. Hi, As there have been a few new suggestions recently with the new client updates, I thought I'd contribute one of my own here. I tend to watch these numbers down below when I'm trying to figure out how much my maximum mirror damage is, or maximum critical damage from a particular monster, instead of watching the floating numbers above my character as it's harder to see which numbers belong to which player. I realize now that this could be fixed by turning off others' health information in instance mode, but could these numbers be displayed all the time and not just while cursor is over the health bar on bottom? Thank you for all the work that's gone into the client and the new quality of life features!

New Features: Refreshed and enabled a very old feature from Emajekral to use coloured textures for the mouse cursor. Enabled from the options window, Font tab. You will need to download the cursors2.dds file and place it in the textures folder of your data files. The texture probably needs a refresh too. Cleaned up how the quantity information is display while moving an item. It now also shows the quantity being moved for stacked items. Added new #command to set the quantity for transferring items. Either "#q" or "#quantity" (or your local translation). The value for the command uses the build-in calculator so can be any calculation #calc can do or just a number. Use the Spells cursor over the spell in the spells window, and the pick-up cursor when picking up items from an item list. A new option to switch to the new data file format for user files. This replaces existing file formats (.dat files) with text based files (.json). This format make it easier to change the data without breaking backwards compatibility. The new format is also robust when moving the files between computers using different architectures. The feature is enabled from the Server tab of the options window. If you are already using the feature, the option is on by default. For a new install with no existing user data fiels, the option is on by default. Otherwise, the option is off by default. It is safe to switch on and your existing data is imported. HOWEVER YOU MUST switch if off, within the client, if you intended to move back to an earlier client version, 1.9.5p8 or earlier. Show if a book has been read or not, as part of the description text shown when you hover the mouse over a book in the inventory, storage or quick items windows. You will need to download the item_knowledge_info.txt file and place it in the top level of your data folder.     Finally mustered the courage to start this post , i'm not going to act like i'm sorry altough some repentance is felt and present, bottom line is i knew what i was doing . I would like to apologise to my guildmates whom are marry band of extraordinary people . I'm sorry Vino, Thor, BB, Ely, Prom, Elbi, BL, AJ, Illoe .... and all the others for sullying the guild reputation . I'm well aware there's a good chance i won't get unbanned after 1 month passes and i have made my peace with it . I guess thats all i can say , given the situation ..... have nice day !

    The critical fail rate is 1/3 of the the normal fails. Astrology plays no role at all in it. Are your non critical fails different?
  25. When you return from AFK you get a list of PMs & then MSG all - how easy would it be to add all broadcasts 'seen' whilst AFK? Perhaps also if it's a new special day? Most of the time - after prolonged AFK - I do #il & #day
  26. I've added a " (read)" or " (unread)" tag to the description text you get when you hover the mouse over items that are books. You'll need a client built from latest source and an additional data file that provides the item to book mapping. I'll publish some new client builds tomorrow.
  27. That sounds quite hard and, as you mentioned, sort of doable with the item lists. Perhaps you should add this idea to the thread about storage categories.
