Can't Connect To Server After Initial Installation

Recommended Posts

No I could not see the players online page.

I ended up messing with the settings...and I got in to the create a character page.

Then it crashes again...log-in won't work either.

:/

That's not a very good video card. Try updating your drivers though. If it still crashes, try disabling shadows and clouds in el.ini.

I updated my driver.

I disabled the clouds/shadows.

Still crashing.

It crashes when I hit "Done" after setting up my character data.

It crashes if I type in my log-in/password and press "Log In"

I play Ashen Empires without a single problem on broadband. My video card (although it sucks) can even handle games like Sims 2 and Morrowwind.

Is there anything else I can do to try to make this work?

I went in ans even set it to poor mans mode. Instant crash with the same windows error.

Could it have something to do with my browser setting? I use Mozilla Firefox. It is set to IE on the config?

I don't see how that would effect it though.

el_100_patch.exe - Unable To Locate Component

"This application has failed to start because wrap_oal.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem."

I re-installed the client...tried again.

Same error.

Sounds like you might want to try reinstalling OpenAL instead.

wrap_oal.dll should be in your EL directory. I guess, I don't know what goes with the windows version. OpenAL has this whole "router dll" mess on windows, because people have different versions of OpenAL. If you have a Creative card or an Nforce2 board, you can get hardware-specific OpenAL drivers and delete the dll that comes with EL.
