I suggest to make a harvestable source for mercury.

 

And to have some fun, because mercury is a liquid metal, maybe you'll need not a pickaxe to harvest it but empty vials to transport it.

 

Just thinking about how to ruin the buisness of that cutthroat Harvy ;-)

make it so a strong player can "pursuade" harvey to reveal his mercury source/harvesting method or a high level mage can "convince" him to reveal it

it could be a secret cave in DP in which there would be pools of mercury and the player would need vials and titanium gloves to get it

They would also need a gas mask and healing because pools of Mercury would be very poisonous to be around.

Mercury is not good item to get money from the game, because no one is making Spirit essences. Reason:

Spirit essence from shop - 9 gc.

Mercury from Harvy: 10 gc.
