You're saying "orange" ryhmes with "range"? "purple" and "ripple"? (fake) words that rhyme with purple would be like "blurple", "nerple", "derple". Get it? Curor Report post Posted September 9, 2004 Hirple? Chilver? The Oxford English Dictionary lists chilver as an Old English noun meaning a ewe lamb, often referred to as a 'chilver lamb'. They specify that it is still in use in 'southern dialects' (by which I assume they mean dialects in southern England, as it is certainly not known in the Australian dialect) The Oxford cites instances between 1000AD and 1883AD. To hirple is to limp: he hirpled off injured midway through the tenth.
Placid Report post Posted September 9, 2004 i think there are only two or three words that dont rhyme with anything. I know that month is one of them.....cant think of the others
Placid Report post Posted September 9, 2004 Also: To prove orange does rhyme: I know of a scholar from Holland,Who's vocab must need to be broadened, There's no rhyme for orange? But what about "lozenge"? His list of word primes should be shortened!
