Guest Narcoleptic Report post Posted February 26, 2016 I've tried pulling up eternal lands while connected to my colleges connection, and it attempts to connect, only to be met with "cannot connect to server" or something along those lines, which leads me to believe that they have a block for it. Do I need a proxy or a VPN to bypass it? Thanks!

saxum Report post Posted February 29, 2016 Can you connect using this command? telnet game.eternal-lands.com 2000 which file is this located in? excuse my ignorance. This is not a file, it is a command. You need to bring up command window in Windows or Linux (not sure about Apples) and type command to test.

Maxine Report post Posted March 6, 2016 What operating system are you using? Most likely you do not have telnet enabled in your version of windows, do a google on "how to enable telnet windows 10" and follow the instructions to enable it.

Maxine Report post Posted March 13, 2016 What message do you get? If port 2000 doesn't work, then try port 2001 (test server, you can log in if your character is at least a year old, otherwise you can make a new one) or 2002 (pk server, only paid accounts). If you cannot telnet to this port (2000), but you can to one of the others, then your university network has it disabled. You will need to use a proxy service. Learner has a paid official service. A free proxy service might work, but many of those are getting blocked by the EL-server.
Guest Narcoleptic Report post Posted March 14, 2016 when i try to connect to 2000, it says the following: "connecting to game.eternal-lands.com...could not open connection to the host, on port 2000: connect failed" whenever i try port 2001, it also says the same exact thing. i'm beginning to think i just need to purchase the proxy that learner has. Elke Report post Posted March 23, 2016 Port 2000 is in use by certain business-grade network devices; network security thus demands to block any traffic on that port except by white-listed origin. Thus using port 2000 was a bad design choice as this port is officially registered to Cisco for that usage.. You'll need to use a proxy in case that you are within such network (it doesn't work at my university either).
