SlimPickins Report post Posted August 18, 2012 Is there a way to change the location in which my personal settings and logs will be saved? Right now everything goes in my home folder. I would like my log files and such to get written to a different drive. Is this possible? I'm using Linux Mint 13 64 bit if it matters.
revi Report post Posted August 18, 2012 You could use symbolic links. Then your logs will still appear to be in your home folder, with the actual data being written wherever you want them (see man page for the 'ln' command'). Afaik, there's no option within EL to do what you want.
Grendous Report post Posted August 18, 2012 yea symbolic link is easiest way but not only way. eternallands script could be edited with a EL_HOME varible and replace all reference to ~/.elc with $EL_HOME
