so first picture (tirnym) leads us to c2 portals room

4 pictures named up/down/left/right have coords that when put on a single map make lines crossing at 98,70 which is a blue crystal in c2 portals, leading to IotF flag

last picture shows WS forest with a temple...

we went to temple of dryx in iotf, but we need to figure out some coords out of the last picture (the one in 01s) because using keys in places that just COULD be it is wasteful.

I used 4 keys in temple of dryx:

You are in Isle of the Forgotten [22,340]

You are in Isle of the Forgotten [24,345]

You are in Isle of the Forgotten [30,338]

You are in Isle of the Forgotten [62,317]

found nothing

even if we are guessing right place isn't big but it's lots of keys to use to check it all

malameo and I were searching IotF at various coordinates hinted at by numbers of 0s and 1s in "map" and other clues

outside: 156, 116 and 116, 156 - no bags

temple: ... mal will post seperately he just said :-)

There is no hyperspace bag here...

[Gwaew @ 7]: wasted a key at where the blue quartz teleport in c2 portals takes you (which is also a blue quartz) - there is no hyperspace bag here...

told u there are very few maps with coords 600+, and only accessible coords I can see are in irin. go check that doesn't make sense anyway ;)

psiho said my approach to looking at 7th picture is correct (what the.. right? :P) but we can't see anything there.

so these are my latest impressions (2 versions for each, focusing on 0 and 1 separately):

on the left as it was given, 48 bits in a row

on the right divided to 8 bits in a row

ble1234.gif

and what I think would best qualify as 'map' - 16x16 image (all blurred to trigger imagination)

Well, I would guess that the name of the Forest of the Fall image is a hint. It's an anagram. So the coords could be something like [366,496]. That puts it in the range of smaller maps, I think. And I'd guess that IotF is a good place to search, since it's all about forgetting....

Somehow these pictures remind me of Dra-Syn or Iscalrith (south-west), because of the many caves there.

* The right upper version looks in many parts like Idaloran mine - that map is also large enough to qualify for many sets of coordinates.

(Lothalith Fortress (AA) is also a maze of passages, but has no resemblance to any of the map versin as far as I can see).

* The two bottom versions of the map do resemble the AA Cave (with the Wolframite and all) in many aspects.

* I find the Iscalrith City part of the Iscalrith map also quite possible (resembling somewhat the upper two versions of the map - especially when turnn 90° in either direction - BUT you'd hardly find any matching set of coords in that rather cramped part of the Isca map (extending to a max of 173 due east and 111 north).

* and, like mentioned before, I do like the mountain instance map :bow_arrow:

EDIT: you know what we could do? convert all the image files candidate maps giving them a 2 color palette only, and then reduce their sice to uhhh whatever that binary map is made up of (was it 48x48)? The closest match wins :-)

... so I just did that - here's what I got (several versions, in all 4 rotations):

Just to help ppl, let me post the entire "map" again with all lines.

ASCII-meaningful lines translated, binary map part displayed as block (lowest line being the translated "DIG it" again)

* Possible starting placed on that map part we figured are highlighted

* Possible location of the treasure: Any 1 on the "DIG it" line? The single 1 in the "space" between 'DIG' and 'it' (but you'd need to teleport there if 0s are physical blockers.

some more thoughts regarding this:

[Gwaew @ 7]: hi all. so far so good - I've found out a few hours ago already which '1' I'd start with, but somehow I'm still uncertain of some things

[Gwaew @ 7]: a) possibility (legitimacy) of diagonal movements

[malameo @ 7]: heh

[Gwaew @ 7]: direction of travel (i.e. where's north on the map?)

[Lalaith @ 7]: hi

[Gwaew @ 7]: is my starting point in Draia correct?

[Gwaew @ 7]: hi hehe I see some of us are still active :-)

[Gwaew @ 7]: anyone stepping through the map currently?

[malameo @ 7]: i started maping iotf for similar ground patterns but was boring ;)

[Gwaew @ 7]: by now 'Im actually questioning whether the map really has any resemplence of the corresponding Draian place - maybe it's just a guide for blindly

[Gwaew @ 7]: walking the place - w/o actually "showing" obstacles etc

[Gwaew @ 7]: i.o.w.: "blocked" could simply mean: don't go there. (as opposed to "you can't go there anyway)

[Gwaew @ 7]: to me what's really disturbing is the vertical line of 0s blocking every path from the smaller left part to the right (actually there are two such lines)

[Gwaew @ 7]: the other question is: where in the map is the treasure hidden? or is it anywhere on the bottom border of the map? like wherever you manage to exit on the

[Gwaew @ 7]: 'DIG it' line?

[Lalaith @ 7]: I thought it might be the "space" between "DIG" and "it" - there's a single 1

[Gwaew @ 7]: that's correct - ... unfortunately it has no connecting 1's - not even diagonally :-(

[Gwaew @ 7]: ok if it's iotf, there are a lot of places only REACHABLE BY TELEPORTATION (sorry f caps) , still

[Lalaith @ 7]: btw, what about the "3 possible holes"?

[malameo @ 7]: I don't think you're supposed to follow a path of 1s

[Lalaith @ 7]: but...?

[malameo @ 7]: they are too scattered. the map just shows some place and the bag is hidden in the middle or in some distinguishing place

[Lalaith @ 7]: and the 1 to start with is the 1 after "START"?

[Gwaew @ 7]: that's what I figured, Lalaith. either the block of 3 1s in the '8' character itself or the first 1 (4th digit) in the char after START

Ok started by walking (hopefully without mistake) the path from the blue central tele-crystal in portals (identifying it with the single marked '1' in the previous post) to the only "directly" (including diagonally) accessible 1s in the bottom line:

No hyperspace bags in either of the three.

Also checked the positions one step north of the locations I marked 'x' (just for good measure - who knows, the starting '1' could be right in front of the crystal, since you can't directly step on it...).

That same path is not walkable (at least with North being towards the top of the map) from the exit point of that same blue teleport crystal (close to the IotF portal).

PS: I used one step = one binary digit ... anyone notice how "DIG it" could also be read as digit ;) ?)

Well, sadly, same result when using the portals exit point in IotF as start:

010001000100100101000xxx001000000110100101110100

D I G i t

For the record: these were [65-67,93] in IotF.

Didn't bother to do an extra row of 3 x below or above it, didn't see any sense in doing so.

Ok, so next idea?

congratz

now!!!

very important try using notepad as it's char 1 and char 0 has same lengths - on forum they don't have same lengths 0 is longer than 1

congratzzz...

you still have 2 things to get it till you get 10 EWEs

will add 1 hint - sorry for long being gone

I'm starting to doubt that IOTF is the right map.

The blue crystal obviously plays a major role, so I think the map could also be Glacmor (it has a blue crystal in its flag and it also has a temple).

Possible starting points:

- tele exit ?

- 98,70 (coords of the blue crystal in portals room) ?

I have to leave now, but I'll check resemblance to the binary map tomorrow...

But yes, on Notepad thats the case for sure.

all more or less possible, depending on your choice of starting point on the map (i.e. where you put the blue crystal in the binary map).

So far no luck digging
