6 months of El playing

Recommended Posts

I have played El for 6 months now and it is still my top game. When i started I had no idea what levels you can reach after some months. I found it disencouraging to notice that people leveled way faster than I did, but most of them had reset, so they were more experienced and had things in their storage which helped a lot.

I could not find posts about what people can reach in the beginning of their EL life, so I like to post an example of what is possible. Not to brag, just to give an example for other newer players.

6 Months of EL playing is considered a short time so I consider myself an advanced beginner. I had no prior knowledge of this game, did not know any one who played the game and did it all by myself However , I did receive an enormous amount of information from my two favorite mods and from players. I am glad I met some very nice people that dont mind answering my questions. The wiki and other sites I use have tons of informations, but sometimes because of that , it is hard to find the answer.

For me , the game playing is more important than the levels, but of course if you have a decent level in a skill, more game oportunities open up.

Because I could not decide which skill to specialise in AND because I wanted to be self sufficient AND because I am not good at doing the same thing for hours, I leveled a lot of skills.

a/d 70, har 68,alc 64. mag 28, pot 39, man 28, cra 34, eng 24. Other skill levels are not worth mentioning yet. o/a is now 90

good luck to you, new players. You can probably get way higher than me. Dont give up, although this game can be very frustrating in the beginning.

Those are really excellent stats for only 6 months of play. I would say you're doing a brilliant job :)

Very nice, wow! You did pretty good.

If you really want to help new players, perhaps write up some tips that helped you, and maybe document a little how you leveled your character.

I have to agree. Your a/d is decent but your magic does not compare to this level. You will be fighting armed orcs and cyclops soon and especially on cyclops, you really want to have failproof restoration spell (magic 49 and above), not to mention that you could participate in instances but with this magic, it can get really tricky. But overall, nice stats, keep it going and raise your magic (it's quite fast after 35-37 with mana drain, trust me...)

first off insulting a guy who was proud of his efforts makes you a douche.

Second off, how can you claim any of that is 'easy' magic training. Do you realize mana/reagants - it's more cost effective to shield to 30..?

Also, let it be known, that restoration will take you to 35 way faster than life Drain. This is coming from someone.. who never used Life Drain to train magic :D

I have to agree, gr8 job for just 6 months, think my stats were about half of you have achieved in that time

IMHO magic is a hard thing to lvl and it does take time.

But i can suggest that unless your godless take the magic god. one of the simplest gods to please and the bonus really pays off. Also if your mixing st00f in storage wear a fast regen cape and cast spells whenever your mana is full, doesn't seem like much but it will add up....

gl, and see you ingame

6 months in game or 6 months in rl? I think the important point is: times in game.

Makuyi, we've chatted in-game quite a lot and I've always found your questions thoughtful and intelligent; it seems to me that you do your research from the various in-game and outside sources to 'hone in' on the specific thing you're looking for. Beside that, you're *fun* to chat with, and I really enjoy reading your comments here, and, when you've made them privately.

I've told you, several times, that I respect your decision to "go it alone," but, you'd be a huge asset to just about any Guild that's lucky enough to recruit you.

Keep havin' fun!

Makuyi, gratz on getting so far in 6 months!! Don't listen to anyone that says you have somehow not accomplished enough.

For those of you who have played around 6 months and have accomplished less, don't you feel bad either.

First, consider how much game time you get compared to real time. I for one have played in real time for much longer than I care to mention - much much longer than Makuyi, and am signigicantly lower level than she. Frequently when I log on, it is for a short period of time, just long enough for a daily quest. This can also lead to unbalanced skills, as I can get proportionally much more a/d doing Haidir quests in 30 min, than I can get casting, harving, mixing etc.

Second, consider how you spend your time on line. Many players have figured out how to maximize their exp/time, and they spend every minute on line doing that (maybe a slight exaggeration). Personally, my focus is to have fun in game. Sometimes that means working really hard toward a goal and getting good exp. Other days, I get hardly any skill exp because I'm chatting so much. I also love ranging! very fun, but not a good way to level up :bow_arrow: Either way, it's a good time, and that is what the game is about for me.

So, you can play EL like you would an xbox game, and try to 'beat the levels' and get all you can as fast as you can. Or you can play the game other ways. Enjoy it and have fun. Seek guidance from the pr0s (thanks for the tips in this topic, btw) if you want or go it alone and explore - there's a lot to see, take your time! Whatever way you play, enjoy the game.:pickaxe:
