Hi.

I am a Linux newbie and am running Ubuntu 8.04LTS on a computer which will not support any resolution above 800x600.

When I try to install EL on this computer, the starting screen where I have to accept the terms & conditions is of larger resolution. Consequently, I can not see or click on the "Accept" button.

Is there some setting in the EL files where I can change the starting resolution before trying to run the game?

You need to edit el.ini this file can be found in the hidden folder named .elc/ in your home/ folder.

 

Change the line #video_mode=?? to read #video_mode=4

 

This should set it to 800x600 32bit mode

Thanks a lot for the prompt help.

Got it running on the system. :-))

Now I need to mess around in that file to get the game to run smooth, and not jerky as now.
