Graphics problem

Recommended Posts

I have a friend who recently downloaded EL and has a graphics problem. Some of his objects ingame like trees and such are white structures. Also, he tried to download some other maps and the map screen is just pure white now. Also the log in screen is pure white except for the 2 boxes where you type in your login info.

Can anyone help?

He's tried re-installing multiple times.

His system is Dell Studio 1737 Pentium Dual Core CPU 2.00GHz 4GB 64-bit Operating System running Vista Home Premium.

His graphics:

Video Card: Mobile Intel ® 4 Series Express Chipset Family

Vendor: Intel

OpenGL Version: 2.1.0 - Build 8.15.10.2182

Ahh theres the problem its an intel chipset :pickaxe:

Seriously tho

It looks like there maybe a newer driver on the intel website for that graphics card. Which may or may not help.

Might be worth backing his current drivers up and giving them a try. Make sure he can roll them back if it goes pear shaped tho.

Once he does solve the problem, he's still going to have to play with many features disabled since Intel does a large part of the graphics work in the CPU, since they have brain dead GPU's. Probably better to call them video chips, not GPU's!

Yes, drivers is probably the problem, their drivers tend to suck more then AMD or NVidia.
