LeaChim Report post Posted October 1, 2009 Hi, Have installed EL using the tarball on two different machines, same version of Ubuntu linux (intrepid). On the desktop (nvidia graphics) it's fine, on the laptop (Intel Corporation Mobile GM965/GL960 Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 0c)) all the textures are wrong. Example: Any ideas? Theryndan Report post Posted October 4, 2009 Could you post the content of ~/.elc/error_log.txt ? Also, the Intel card probably will support less features than the Nvidia one: have you tried turning off shadows and animation program for example? korrode Report post Posted October 6, 2009 (edited) A few suggestions: Try bluap's Ubuntu packages for EL, instead of the tarball, they have an accurate dependency list so if something's missing, installing them will get it. https://help.ubuntu.com/community/EternalLands ----------------------- If for some reason you really want to use the tarball, not bluap's packages, here's some further possibilities: Ensure you have libpng12-0 installed (iirc EL only uses libpng12-0, not libpng3, but you could install libpng3 to be safe). EDIT: errr actually now that i think about it the issues related to missing libpng are usually eye candy related, so this probably isn't it. If that's not the problem, here's a couple of Ubuntu PPA's you may find useful/of interest: 1. Set of Intel drivers that are specifically recommended by Intel themselves: https://launchpad.net/~intellinuxgraphics-2...q4/+archive/ppa 2. Set of updated X components and drivers, incl. newer intel drivers + mesa: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-x-swat/+archive/x-updates ----------------------- Hope something there helps Edited October 6, 2009 by Korrode
