bluap Report post Posted March 19, 2009 If you use the Debian/Ubuntu Linux packages, then some of you may have already noticed the client package has been updated. This update is basically the same version of the client as the 1.8.0 release but with a bug fix for the "GetAll" inventory button; fixing a client crash/freeze when there are a lot of bags on the map (more than 50). As always further information about these packages can be found here. P.S. If you want the latest development version of the client, then you can use the eternallands-cvs package. Usl Report post Posted April 18, 2009 Considering that there is a renewed interest in attracting more new players, have we considered submitting your packages to the official Debian or Ubuntu repositories? The client code is open source, so it should be ok by the Debian policy, and it would make it very easy for several millions people(*) to install the EL client on their machines, in addition to providing some exposure through the Debian/Ubuntu channels... As far as I can tell Ubuntu 9.04 has new intel drivers that don't work to well with the integrated gfx chipsets we both seem to have. I have found a potential fix here but I haven't tried it yet. This problem does look to be driver dependant and not an EL specific fault. Have any of you tried any other openGL games? Do they work OK? I was intending to do a rebuild of the EL client packages for Jaunty now its released but from what Popeye has said, his own build from CVS has the same problem. If someone could post a gdb backtrace from where the crash happens, we might be able to do something. When i want to update repositories, Aptitude can't connect with EL repository. Did you update your sources as stated in this thread? Just in case, could you post your full sources line for the PPA. bluap Report post Posted May 26, 2009 I've updated the eternallands Debian and Ubuntu packages to include the bug fix for intel drivers with Ubuntu Jaunty and for the eyecandy crash with 64-bits CPUs.
