Silvatica Report post Posted October 3, 2009 Also, mixing compressed & uncompressed files (such as downloading via autoupdate) can confuse people as to which file is being used or using old files unintentionally. My default the client will look for compressed files first, and auto update in the past has supplied uncompressed files. Auto-update should of course then always use compressed files if thats the default in a standard release. You can also fix it by changing directory structure so that noone can can accidentally use the old files for example use version number in directory structures. Doub't many will be confused since most dont probably dont bother too look into the files. And its also very easy to add a small README file that tells that some files is intentionally compressed.
