VixenRose Report post Posted September 29, 2008 I want to log on to EL today and it said my IP was banned. I don't remember breaking any rules and if i did i didn't mean to and apolgize for doing so. Aislinn Report post Posted September 29, 2008 Well IP's generally don't get unbanned. They are banned to keep major troublemakers/cheaters out. Are you trying to log in from a different location? I see at least 2 different ISP's on your account. (only looking back a little bit atm). I also see you are posting from a differerent IP than you have been logging on from most recently. VixenRose Report post Posted September 29, 2008 Still useing the same computer but I did have to switch ISP, so that would be the two different ISP. Forgot to post in my first post but my ingame name is Vixen_Rose and i also have an alt DaNay and another alt VixenRose, but i don't really use that one at the moment. Aislinn Report post Posted September 29, 2008 Ok, you are very dynamic. You ended up assigned a banned IP range due to somebody else. I whitelisted Vixen_Rose but alts are not whitelisted. (We have a limited amount of slots on the whitelist, so alts are not whitelisted. We do not want to deny a new person one character so another one can have multiple alts.) Please allow approximately 20 minutes from the time of this post for the server to update your information, then log on as usual. So i won't be able to log onto my alt DaNay at all, because i have put alot of work into that chara too and would hate to lose it. Aislinn Report post Posted September 29, 2008 You are pretty dynamic so odds are you won't be stuck in this IP range for long. You only won't be able to log on your alts while you are in this range. How it happens: You are assigned an IP which is 12.34.56.78 (this is an example, not really your IP) by your internet service provider (ISP). A banned range means every IP that starts with 12.34. is banned, because the troublemaker also was dynamic like you, so banning just his single IP won't work. Your IP, being dynamic, is getting a different number every time you connect. Usually you don't get put into this banned range, but this time you did.
