even with 130 a/d black dragon pwns you.

Well this is an MMORPG :) look at those games with so much success (i.e. WoW)...is it just the graphics? or that you actually have to work in team to kill BossX/MrSabie/others? If you want to kill the dragon solo then you are more than welcome to try Gothic II, Fable or others that don't cross my mind right now. Ohhh I just realized I'm in a guild and I have a buddy list full with names and some of them are quite good fighters :o maybe I could try going with them to the dragon and maybe if we make a plan as well we will defeat it :P

100-110 a/d cap would be nice for people like me who don't have too much time to play and want to have some fun as well not just spend their time on spawns. Would be way easier to catch up with others and it would help pk as well. You will see less "omgx0rz KiwiY is in kf he has obber 193 a/d i cant go dere" and after more people reach the cap they will be enforced to use strategy in PK since there will be others equal to their level.

Yeah it does suck that people who have played the game longer or trained harder than us have got better skills, why just leave it at a/d ? lets cap all skills at 100 , cant have people having to much of an advantage can we.

Not that I'm for or against the idea of capping ATM, but wouldn't it be more fair to cap it above highest AD or so? (What is highest AD anyways, 140-150?)

I need to consider this before I make choice of whether I'm pro/against.

I wouldnt mind a poll, just to see what ppl think in that matter, 100a/d cap or same like it is now, of course last word as always belongs to the devs :)

Even if it means only 200-400 votes it would give some impression of what players prefer

About highest a/d- its under160, and oa is 159-163 depending if Toomy trained hard last couple months or not very ;P

If cap at 160 a/d then it should be reachable in 3 months of hardcore training( so like 100a/d now ;p), just my opinion :P

Well that post was created, while I was talking on the phone, so its a bit long and discordant.

And I was really responding to a level cap of 100 or less. It seems the kids want nothing in

this game to take longer than one summer holiday.

Its pointless to make "hard" level cap at 150, since that isn't going to suddenly make ADD kids

start leveling toward it. Its entirely silly to make things Nerf'd easier because the majority of people

are lazy. Really if people want instant combat, play a first person shooter, rpgs imho are suppose to be

hard, and its 'climbing the ladder' and not sitting at the top, that is the most fun. {maybe I'm just in ramble mode today]

[sarc]but wait!! im only 70s a/d i think the cap should be at 80 a/d then i can sit on my fat arse and only harv/pk, wouldn't that be great.

actually my friend has just started hes only 10s a/d lets make the cap at 20 a/d so everyones happy yea?[/sarc]

you might have guessed by now, i think this idea is terrible.

*Agrees with robotbob wholeheartedly*

And correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the purpose and intent of TS potions supposed to be giving you True Sight and the a/d reduction supposed to be a negative consequence? Just because people are (ab)using it for the wrong purpose pretty much exclusively shouldn't be a reason to make it worse

I am totally against "dumbing down" EL (or the education requirements etc etc etc etc etc) for the sake of people who are lazy or abuse features to get instant gratification.

And don't even get me started on character buying for instant gratification.

Garnoo, i wasnt even talking about that it's impossible to kill black dragon with 130 a/d alone.

it was more like an answer to your post that you can pwn black dragons with 70 a/d, so i said that even with 130 it still owns you (which means most likely it will hit you more than you hit it, not meant as a flame at all.)

my main point was, if the cap is gonna be 100 a/d no one will be able to kill yetis nice at all, 100 a/d + 48 p/c/r/i isnt enough for them.

EDIT: and hell yes aislinn is right, people are complaining that the negative effect of a potion doesn't give them as much of an advantage as it did before, just crazy.

Pretty cool how a thresd changes from begining to end -although it's nice to see that some agree with me that changes need to be made to make some mobs more trainable :P

As for working at lvls I work harder than most because i only train chims at 200k per hr... If i wanted to be weaker i could reset and train ferros ts for over 300k per hr as others do but i don't like this option either..

As for ts i like it in that it makes it easier to find a pvp partner :) and i don't think it should go..

I am totaly against cap on skills! i really enjoy training on monsters and hopeing for that elusive drop :) if caps were set soon this game would be all allrounders -and what would that do to economy? once i max one skill i start on another ect ect --or i just quit playing - i see nothing good will a cap for skill levels.

my 2 cents

Not to completely derail this thread, but I'll fast explain myself there.

I have a friend, an english teacher (who probably needs to help me), who has become totally

discouraged with teaching english. He said, "I'm forced to teach to the weakest student, and not the students

bright enough to absorb the material". So the class is dumb-down to the level of the 'dumbest kid'. Thereby punishing

the rest of the kids, because 'no child can be left behind'. Is saying that not everyone is capable of every career cynical? probably

Its more unfair to convince a child who is mentally incapable that he could be a neurosurgeon.

In the USA, we let a mediocre student through cronyism become president and did you see what fun he had? ;)

I see your point, and yes perhaps it is more unfair to put such high ambitions in a child's head, however I just thought part of your statement required comment (the part about shoot-outs).

Anyway, off to bed, math exam tomorrow.

We dont need an a/d cap, the attribute cap has leveled the playing field enough.

What we do need is so people like Mango and myself, who love to PK but consider high exp training very important, can take 48/48 p/c and still make good exp.

This whole 'train for months then drop your pp's and PK for a couple of months then #reset and repeat' is ridiculous.

Wouldn't it be better if we were just in PK the whole time? what's worse is we have monsters that with some small changes will completely fix this problem.

Just make it so the chims give as good or better att and def exp per single spawn as feros and fluffs. I'm bewildered that people cant see the benefit of this, i'm bewildered it wasn't done the day after the 48 cap came in tbh... and u dont see me saying "lower their damage and crit rate" etc., this is not a wishlist, it's just logical.

We should test the theory with Forest Chimerans. lower their re-spawn time to match fluff (they both have 250 health so its fair) and lower their toughness/armor to match d.chim's (so they can be hit barefist/with bone) and leave them like that for ~6 months... see if all those spawns in Willowvine remain completely unused.

yes it really bothers me that some one in mid 80's a/d can train fluffy which is 95 a/d..almost 10 lvls higher - yet we can't train monsters with a/d more than 10 lvl's below us?

maybe you should make fluffy ogers trolls ext all much higher damage and crit rates:)

and at villekpl "tbh i think burfoots right, we should have monsters which give shitloads of exp like 1 million exp in the time from attacking it till flee'ing and it should have like 10,000 hp.

besides that it shouldnt hit you very much so you can train longer.

oh oh it should drop things like Jsoc, thermals and all kinds of magic items!

would be cool if we could fly too so u just fly to spawns instead of walking"

Wtf? someday this will effect you too... i don't think i'm wrong asking for a change

Didnt u guys just receive a small cave in non-pk area with 4 feroses in it? :o

Isnt it 350k/h oa exp even if u r 48p/c and 130+ a/d ? ( tsed only 115a/d ;p )

Isnt it cheap + easy+crazy fast ?( compared for example to times where smooms, don and baddude were training on mc's and got under 200k oa xp/h being only around 120a/d :)

Just some questions to make sure :)

Actually i believe there's 6.

Feros are not my current main training creature so i don't know if this is always the case, but the few times i have gone to that cave most/all spawns were taken, so it's not like you're going to get more than 1 spawn to yourself in there, not often anyways.

Isnt it 350k/h oa exp even if u r 48p/c and 130+ a/d ? ( tsed only 115a/d ;p )
See above response, i doubt any 130 a/d + 48/48 p/c person will make 350k p/h, no matter what time of day they go there.

But, i dont deny, the likes of Burfoot should go try this at least.

See above response.

(and i couldn't really care less what smooms, don and baddude were doing way back when, or how 'hard' they had it).

My questions to you:

No matter what my responses to your questions were, would any possible response invalidate the argument that f.chim and m.chim should be trainable?

Is adding more spawns of the typical training creature, in your opinion, really better than getting some completely unused creatures/spawns trainable?

(to me personally, it just seems like another band-aid response).

Should the f.chims in Willowvine sit there completely unused forever? If so, what is the point of them being there?

I eagerly await your response.

EDIT: oh, and i am happy with the cheap+easy+crazy fast exp.

I'm happy enough to not PK for months, lose no rostos, break minimal armor.

I'm happy to use hardly any HE/SR.

I'm happy to, when i finally return to actively PK'ing, be way stronger than most, slaughtering anyone my levels or under with ease, making my PK experience an easy PKi farm, and other peoples a miserable, continual lesson in defeat.

Seems to me, not implementing my suggested changes to chims reduces the brick count, hurts the economy and potentially adds to the inactivity of PK.

So, fine, leave the chims as they are. I aint 48/48 p/c, i'm 28/40 p/c, what do i care.

Yeah, forest chim is quite bad for training now after 48cap, i think even mc isnt that bad( at least gives more exp per hit/block and got less armor :)

All good points Korrode, although I'll have to take your word on what's actually trainable and what's not, since I'm still at fluffy level... :)

Well, normally higher levels get you more xp, on contrary you need more to level, so seems logical. In EL its the other way around.

The higher your a/d, the harder it gets to make good xp. And you have to keep yourself weak to do so lol.

Huh?

What you are saying makes absolutely no sense whatsoever.

Did you know that other games, such as WoW, cap the levels at much lower values?

In EL, you can still train at pretty much any level, the cap being quite high.

It's not my fault if you train a/d like a maniac, instead of trying to do other things (PK, ranging, magic, engineering, summoning, etc.).

What Manderijn said is right and does make sence.

basicly in other MMORPGS the exp is constant, no matter what lvl you are, but because you need more exp to lvl up each gained lvl you move on to stronger monsters which give more exp, and thats pretty much different then EL.

in EL you get less exp from a monster each gained lvl, and the next monster thats stronger either gives bad exp, or is too strong. in order to keep on getting good exp you need to use the "negative" effect from True sight potions to get more exp. you'd get more a/d exp from a fluffy at 100 a/d then at 115 a/d, that's what Manderijn meant.. you need to keep yourself weak with TS pots to get good exp.

btw you can't compare WoW to EL, WoW has raiding and balanced pk to make up for the lvl cap.. which kinda beats being able to to train at pretty much any lvl.

lastly, ofc it's not your fault ppl train like a maniac, you only provide the oppurtunity to do so.

let's say player A is #1 in a/d, player B tries to become to #1. player B will train like a maniac to do so since there is no cap.

but ofc player A isn't mental and wants to keep his #1 spot and trains like a maniac to stay #1.

you see the problem? everyone is trying to be the #1 a/d but because there is no cap it's an endless race to the top.

anyway i could care less about a cap, just explaining the problem ppl are trying to point out.

hope it was constructive enough ;)
