I have a question: why do SO many of the suggestions have to be in broken unreadable sentences with bad spelling? Why can't the messages just be humorous in plain-text? And while trendy, net-speak isn't really that funny. I imagine many people around the world have enough trouble reading English without having to deal with this <insert colorful word here>.

That is why they are not in normal english. I think somewhere Entropy actually said that Leonard speaks in lolcat.

well, leonard speaks in lolcat, not 'trendy net-speak'. lolcat happens to be from the website icanhascheesburger.com, and is about funny pics of kitties. this seems appropriate 'cause leonard is just a big kitty at heart , and the suggestions are in lolcat cause afaik ent asked them to be. personally I think its rather funny, its kind of an 'easter egg' if you will.

Well after reading http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lolcats I'm left with the impression that lolcat is a lot more readable (the changes are less drastic) than much of what I've been reading here. But I guess it comes down to personal preference. To me, some of the humor value is lost if I have to study the phrase to figure out what it's trying to say.
