EL 1.6.0 (release) for pre download

Ok...I might be going waaay out on a limb here... but I hope this might help figure out problems with re-installing windows.

 

People were fine...until re-installing windows (which means there is no longer any data in the MyDoccuments/el/main folder)

 

Before, all EL info was just in the PROGRAMS/EL folder....

 

Since the release of EL_160 ... were any files skipped being copied into MyDoccuments/El/Main ?

 

I have everything running fine since NoClusters... so I can't test this theory myself.

 

When I installed version 1.6 ... I did delete my EL folder in PROGRAMS.... but I forgot to delete MyDocuments/EL/Main....and everything is fine.

Try to rename the shaders folder, see if it helps.

Hmm, in the past hour or so, this has happened twice:

Ozmo, I think it's a hardware issue.

Is it a laptop or desktop? Can you check and make sure the fans are spinning? Try to limit your FPS to 20 or so, see if that helps.

Is it a laptop or desktop? Can you check and make sure the fans are spinning? Try to limit your FPS to 20 or so, see if that helps.

 

It is a laptop and fan does not appear to be spinning atm Oo. Limiting to 20 fps right now. I'll have our IT guy check it out tomorrow, ty.

its keeps saying re-sync with server and FPS jumps from 0 to 38 UPV 1

ok i have tried to get the sound working i did all the right things but still no sound can yiou help me again please. i downloaded sound files in-zipped to the main folder the sound folder is there but no sound is working

FPS limit at 40, UVP: 0

poor man setting due to a crap hardware set up (I can use eyecandy and teh special effects but find it lags a little too much to make it a trade off for playability)

Zero sound (no speakers!)

Game works fine for me apart from a very very minor matter that I(we) nearly always grue on first logging in. Minor because just a keypress gets us back in again with no further issues but thought I would mention it anyways (most likely its just my crap setup thats lagging out due to having to work itself hard to set teh game screen up initially, and once it has it can just about cope).

 

I love the improved speed on map changes, absolutely awesome that, I can remember teh days before c2 when switching from whitestone to Morcraven would take 1-2 minutes and guarantee a grue out. Come a long way since then wooot!

Will 16 bit graphics be usable any time? As of now only the 32 bit graphics enables all functionality of the cursor.

16 bit generally uses less memory and is faster than 32 bit on low end machines.

I usually keep desktop in 16 bit for the speed improvement, but at least if i forget to switch to 32 bit for EL, i can do it while its running.

Just an observation...Ever since UVP was first displayed in previous RCs, all three of our PCs UVP was "0".

 

When I installed el_rc_160_final.exe on all three, my first PC's UVP changed to "1" and the others remained at "0".

 

After installing the 1.6.0 client from the EL site, the first PC's UVP has reverted back to "0".

 

Any comments?

Only your Video card: RADEON X800 Series x86/SSE2 PC can do vertex programs (properly). Maybe you deleted the shaders dir or something?

As a practice I don't knowingly change anything between RC installs just to ensure continuity from client to client. As you suggested I checked that my "\shaders" folder is intact and it is. I then reviewed my "\main el.ini" file for any vertex parameter and its setting (listed below). I did include my infos and error logs below as well as my game screen initialization text.

 

The "infos" log looks as I would expect it to be, the initialization screen also seems to want to use vertex however I do notice a "opengl_error" message relating to "vertex" which I havent seen before.

Guys, I am using a mac and this is all screwed up. I have lost lots of money because of this problem. RIght when I log in my computer freezes.

 

 

 

 

I am using a Mac Book Pro. I have fully updated drivers and stuff.... Noclusters.exe won't work cause for macs we need .dmg or .zip
