Ryosuke Report post Posted March 13, 2008 yo, I've currently got a GeForce 8300GS.. And, it struggles to play latest FPS', so, i'm looking for a new one. There aren't many existing topics that can help me either, so.. I've got a flexible $250 to spend.. I only really know what i've been told.. so, if anyone can pick the best one for performance/price, it would be great. Even if you have a better card in mind, that would be great. GeForce 8600 GT 512MB ($110) GeForce 8600 GTS 512MB ($240) GeForce 8800 GT 512MB ($280) GeForce 9600 GT OverClock 512MB ($260) Thanks.
Superman Report post Posted March 13, 2008 Personally I would go for a 8800 GT, but thats my opinion.
LabRat Report post Posted March 13, 2008 Lose the nvidia fixation There are some very nice models available from ATI in your price range. First and foremost, what type of graphics bus does your motherboard have (agp/pci/pci express)?

sankee Report post Posted March 17, 2008 Well as i see it EL don't even suport all of the best cards... or maby only fps-meter is wrong cause i got GF 8800 GTX and it gives me 40 FPS xD with old gf 4200 ti i allways had over 60 fps... but it still works smooth... my opinion is if u only play EL don't spend much on graphic if u play other games buy the best! middle class graphics get old fast... buy better and it will last longer + graphic didn't do much progress past few months. P.S. i would sell my turtle's aquarium if i needed better graphic -sanka-
Lorlen Report post Posted March 17, 2008 EL client auto caps fps at 40 lol
LabRat Report post Posted March 17, 2008 He has already said i is so he can play "latest FPS". EL is not what I would call a FPS.. yet. Yes EL is capped at 40FPS out of the box (so to speak). And you apparently buy beaver furs at 1000 gc per. What's your point?
sankee Report post Posted March 17, 2008 not much i just don't think u need 2 spend much on graphic 2 play just EL if fps is locked at 40...

I was showing him why he was getting 40fps with his 8800. and Sankee, you can change the fps cap.
Ryosuke Report post Posted March 17, 2008 I also notice that FPS is used twice Labby meant First Person Shooters when he said "Latest FPS", not frames/second.
