LabRat Report post Posted March 13, 2008 (edited) Cool LabRat, but I wouldn't have thought you needed runway lights to find your keyboard. LOL! You muppet! don't you know anything? It is so I can find my tinfoil hat when the aliens come a looking for their flying saucer's supercomputer. With the grunt that beast has, I am gonna have to install a HAL eyeball. Still, I bet voice recognition is still going to suck. Computer. Computer? Hello, Computer. Just use the keyboard. Keyboard. How quaint. Superman Report post Posted March 13, 2008 Nice, but mines still better. (Custom built, so spec is 1337.) Btw, buy more RAM, if your getting Vista on it, you'll want +4GB of the stuff.
LabRat Report post Posted March 13, 2008 It comes OSless, I have already claimed it as a very potential ubuntu PC I know at some point Windows will creep on there, but I reckon it will be XP Pro rather than Vista.

LabRat Report post Posted March 14, 2008 Hey Labsy!!I'll trade ya! Pleeeeeezzz???? Pah that only looks good from the front. A pr0 1337 ha><><0r computer has to have the sides off to allow ready access to the internals and to allow optimum air cooling for your overclocked 384MB of triple corsair II RAM. Plus everyone knows a real hacker's desk ain't that tidy.
LabRat Report post Posted March 15, 2008 My new PC arrived, and I have to say I am very impressed with the build quality - all the wires were neatly routed and the speed is phenomenal It looks and feels so nice I may have to clean my desk
tork_unib Report post Posted March 15, 2008 That is indeed a nice spec pc, although quoting a clock speed of 13.44 GHZ is slightly misleading given the actual rated speed of the cpu being 2.4ghz. Nevertheless i was bowled over by the price, looks like you scored yourself a bargain, well done. And yes, the HAL eyeball is a must!
Sistema Report post Posted March 15, 2008 Nice, but mines still better. (Custom built, so spec is 1337.) Btw, buy more RAM, if your getting Vista on it, you'll want +4GB of the stuff. I'll have to agree with Superman. 4GB+ would be very useful, especially if it'll be running Vista.
The_Piper Report post Posted March 15, 2008 I'll have to agree with Superman. 4GB+ would be very useful, especially if it'll be running Vista. One more reason not to use vista, if it really needs 4GB to run smoothly Piper
Hannibal Report post Posted March 15, 2008 buy more ram, and nice pc btw. I am not a ATi fan, nvidia ftw.

One more reason not to use vista, if it really needs 4GB to run smoothly Piper It dosn't 'need' it at all, I have 4GB in mine, to use if I ever needed it, I only us a max of 3GB atm, and I get 1337 speed. LabRat Report post Posted March 15, 2008 (edited) I have it dual booting Ubuntu and XP Pro, I have no desire to install Vista. I have it on very good authority that there are no plans to make EL directx10 only. Edit: It cost £362 GBP (around 720 USD) Edited March 15, 2008 by LabRat

Mugwump Report post Posted March 16, 2008 Actually the reason I haven't put the face and side back on is because this 10 year old Dell isn't worth the bother! Plus all the guts are hanging out.... I also cropped the pic so the clutter wouldn't show.... it's that shameful!! Gratz on your new machine, Lab, and good luck with it! That is a good price too!! Ebay is a good source for bargains, that's for sure.
