Pre RC 11

Everything running great so far.

 

RC_10 I was stuck at 29-30 fps...now I'm getting 38-40 fps!

 

using Shadows, show reflections and cloud shadows!

 

Running :

Windows Vista

Nvidia GeForce 8400M GS

 

 

I haven't been back to VOTD yet...to test Red Rose. I'll edit if I still have problem

bkc56, can you try to see if there is a new driver for your video card? OpenGL Version: 1.5.3 is kind of old..
I was hesitant to update the drivers since it's not directly my PC, but I gave it a try (hey, what's the worst that can happen?) and it's now "OpenGL Version: 2.1.2" and has stopped crashing during initialization. I appologize for the false report (although I did have a reason for not trying the "update video drivers" as my first attempt).

 

The next set of tests will be on my home laptop tonight (see how the multi-door and multi-bag selection issues are).

Well, i guessed, i messed up everything totally here.

 

I am using a fresh CVS client with radu's make.conf posted in february in forums (sry, didnt found a more actual one) in the folder with all that PRC10 stuff.

 

And getting the source from CVS didnt gave me a make.conf, so i guess, its missing there.

 

I cant see the elven bow, when equipped, but can use it.

 

I can see the new arrows like magic, ice, fire etc. and use them.

 

I can see some strange things when shooting arrows like the char aims to the south but the shot goes to the south/east without rotating the char itself.

 

I have some resyncs and a disconnect which has a typo:

 

Disconnected from server!: []

 

Should there be a text between the brackets []?

 

When i aim at creatures, the animation starts that the char takes the arrow out of the quiver, then spans the bow, then aims at the target, which takes 1-2 seconds and the target monster runs away. My fault, a bug or intentional (the 1-2 seconds aiming time after spannning the bow) ?

 

Is there a full download available with all stuff which is needed to run the RC11 client?

 

And, at least, with the new arrows, i am sudden death for gobbies in MM cave \ö/

Click Log In, progress bar loads to 100% then it crashes. Tried renaming /Shaders folder but still no luck. All RCs including RC8 work fine. RC9 has graphics issues. RC10 and RC11 just won't run.

seems to work fine for me UVP=1

 

when im at home(at uni atm) i will be playing on a diffrent machine, higher specs but it has a geforce card i think, are people reporting problems with these? i have not been home since this whole testing thing began and if its over before i get home i wont have a chance to test before the final client is released. Is this something to worry about or will it be totally sorted by then?

Tested RC-11 on my home laptop.

 

With "New selection" enabled, I still have the multi-bag and multi-door selection problems.

 

With it disabled, selection seems to work normally (with limited test cases so far).

 

I'm pretty sure I tested with that option on/off before without success. It could be a difference in RC11, or it could be related to other options and I haven't discovered the full relationships yet.

I deleted eternal lands folders in both program files and my documents and installed el_150_install. Then I downloaded RC11 and installed it into the new eternal lands folder under program files. I left everything like this, and left the official maps in place.

 

I logged in and was in AA storage, panned about 90 degrees and the whole system crashed. I rebooted and edited my el.ini folder to put on poor man and remove all eye candy and special effects, set selection to the old selection method and restarted EL. The same thing happened when I panned in storage. Returning to no_clusters version to await guidance.

No problems w/ RC11,

however I got a repeatable crash related to:

the new missile code. So Ill post it

others know what is occurring if they experience this.

Modified the code that allows to fire an arrow at an object. The new behaviour is the following:

- when you have a range weapon equipped, you can access to the attack cursor with the right button of the mouse

- if you have a range weapon equipped and if the current cursor is the walk one, pressing both CTRL & ALT keys

will change the cursor to the attack one when the mouse is over an object

I experience a special case when my attack cursor remained and I accidentally attempted

to attack a tree, the result is immediate server disconnection. (Not handled by the server yet)

 

I obviously didn't have a range weapon equipped on the main, but with a melee weapon accidentally was able to

at least attempt to attack a map object.

Turned poor man on, loading got a little further. Crashed within 2 seconds of loading.

 

Added #use_new_selection= 0 to the .ini file and it appears to be working only with poor man on.

So, on this "last Pre-RC" release, I am still invisible. Looks like unless it is fixed I will be unable to play EL.

Works nicely, i get up to 120 fps on best graphics so I'm good :D

Also will skybox and those camera views be included in the official update?

There were no known problems with Linux last time I checked, but if you want to try it on Linux, see the programming forum. You are using an old make file or something.

 

I've commited CVS 5 minutes ago, so how makefile or anything can be outdated if it is most current one?

Makefile in CVS is to compile release, so you have to edit it to compile RC. See the programming forum as said.

Mine runs perfect i get 60 fps (limited on that amount, il try increasing and see how much I get) 10 anti, water quality 2 and render fog on everything goes well if there are any bugs il report back :D

I have invisible people again, started at 0:30 game time.

 

#Edit - No problems with the Arrows/Weapons as far as I could see. :D

#Edit - I fixed it the same way as befor, removing some code, retsarted client, and I could see people again.
