I still have problems with rendering players/npcs when "render fog" and/or "shadows" is on... [see here] (10MB)

 

Just don't enable the fog, I never have it on anyway.

 

As for the resolution changes, yes, we know, we are not going to fix them for this update, too much work.

It seems to work fine for me (except some flickering on the smoke in south redmoon, but nothing major).

I'll go on with it and see what happens.

Still get patchy characters when render fog is enabled, only issues I found.

 

Quick question, Will the fog have an effect on perception for ranged weapons when attempting to shoot creatures and characters?

So far everything is fine, though I think the new client is a little bit slower than the old one (nothing that would make the game less enjoyable though). Using poor man and most fancy things are turned off, so I can't test them properly, sorry. Anyway, on this ancient video card the game still works fine, thanks.

 

I'll report if I find anything out of the oridinary.

Installed, np. Seems fine atm, I will update this post if any problems arise. :D

 

Hopefully, this is the last PRE RC, so I strongly encourage everyone to test it and report problems.

Download it from here: http://www.eternal-lands.com/el_pre_rc_12_03_07.exe

Install it in your EL folder, don't make backups or anything!

Run el_pre_rc_11.exe

 

Report any issues here.

If you still have problems with the selection, you can turn it off in the config window, under the Video tab.

I did try to compile current CVS client (i understand that it is teh same as preRC for windows), and it fails:

teh question is, do you need linux users to test anything also or not?

 

There were no known problems with Linux last time I checked, but if you want to try it on Linux, see the programming forum. You are using an old make file or something.

I've commited CVS 5 minutes ago, so how makefile or anything can be outdated if it is most current one?

pre release seems fine with the exception of Palon Vertas, seriuose lag - 0-1 FPS

open GL = 2.0.3

 

hope this helps

 

If you get serious lag, turn the water quality to 1.

Hi

 

I know were not really supposed to post on other peoples behalf I just wanted to let you know a friend of mine who doesnt have a forum account is having some problems getting this one to start.

 

Shes going to make a forum account shortly so she can post some info, but just wanted to let you know the Video Card Info, shes going to try updating the drivers again to.

 

It seems its still a GEFORCE thing :

Obviously im not going to try and be a middle man here, just letting you know there was still an issue with a GEFORCE card
