Once you have downloaded the RC how do you get into it? I know this is a stupid question but I need to know how. :pickaxe:

 

 

If your running on windows follow this -- My Computer > C Drive > Programme Files > Eternal Lands , then look in there for the EL logo and it will have pre_rc named under it.

It actually works this time! Only problem is when I zoom out, it instantly crashes.

Same problem... The pointer doesn't change, cant harv, cant trade, cant enter the building, cant talk to NPC. Its stuck in walk mode. DOESNT even change when i clicked the icons on the bottom of the bars, but it does in inventory items listed in the inventory on the upper right side - near the quickspell icons.

Like I said so many times before, if you have the "can't select shit" problem, change the color mode form 16bpp to 32bpp.

Client does not crash, but the problem with wrong monsters/players rendering when "render fog" is enabled persists.

Yes, without changing resolution or togging full screen/window. I already installed latest driver, and omega drivers don't work for me. I haven't had the strange graphics since, and I've played 5-6 hours now.

Did it correctly and it now works! No thorough testing yet, but the basics work.

From RC7, I haven't experienced any problems but one small.

 

My screen as well as game has 32bpp selected, however I have some difficulties of harvesting something near something interactive, cursors seems to be confused and I have to really focus to do what I intend to do.

I may have a bit of info on the shadows issue. I noticed that shadows only seem to be working correctly (at least on my pc) if I have shadow mapping enabled as well. Here's what I did: Turned reflections on (worked fine), turn shadows on (all the water in portland went wonky-lines...), then, turn on shadow mapping, everything looks great again.

 

So, best I can tell, the shadows and shadow mapping BOTH have to be on for it to work correctly. Hope this helps...

 

EDIT: did some further testing with what settings are saving and what aren't. Seems all are saving except for shadows, shadow mapping, and reflections.

FPS is exactly zero. This was in MM, next to a tree, spot of twinkling black water and tree mushroom, none or few actors nearby. I did not try to beam to see if it applies other maps, I do always have lower fps in MM. I was able to open all windows, there only was 5 seconds between a frame. This did not apply in console or map windows. I did not try to mapwalk.

Installed and running on both NV and ATI card machines, np problems as of yet.

Install it, and run el_pre_rc_9.exe

 

A few notes first:

1. People that had flicker will still have flicker (we'll get to that on a future pre rc, so don't report it)

2. Now the S3, SiS and the Intel cards (as well as some ATI cards) SHOULD not crash anymore. If they do crash, please paste the content of the infos.log and errors log, but only the relevant parts please, not the WHOLE logs:

 

If it crashed with the previous Pre RCs, but now it works, please says so!
