Pre RC 7

Recommended Posts

I am using the last official release ATI catalyst drivers for my hardware. Omegadrivers crash my system during installation, so at some point in the near future I will need to reinstall windows and try on a clean installation.

Video card: RADEON 9200 Series DDR x86/SSE2

Vendor ID: ATI Technologies Inc.

OpenGL Version: 1.3.1072 WinXP Release

My driver version is 6.14.0010.6614 from the ATI website. This is the newest driver for my card I have been able to find. Last time I checked I was unable to find a Omega driver for my card.

el_pre_rc_26_02_07.exe crashes when I try to login.

run el_pre_rc_26_02_07_no_vertex_programs.exe Seems to run ok. I have seen some of the terrain in Trassain flash a bit around cave entrances.

Edited to add: If someone knows of an Omega driver for my card please let me know. Thanks

hehe i cant even play at all without them, i got RADEON x800 256mb PCIe x16, so its not a bad graphic card, but without the omega drivers EL doesnt even start, and now with them in the new client it doesnt seem to work as well either, anyway im trying new stuff but i just cant find out why it only lags (FPS lag, not ping) like i would have 5 el open, i got normal FPS lol. BTW, those of you with ATI cards that have problems, do you have the Omega drivers or the standard drivers?

Standard--I went through approximately 15 different omega drivers in December trying to solve the problem last time, and each of the produced an equal or worse result.

Ok, those of you with 'can't change the cursor' problem, can you tell me what desktop color depth you are using? I verified that 16bpp will cause it not to work, so try to switch to 24/32 bpp and see if it works.

I was using 16 bit depth for both, switched to 32 bit and both work.

On the Laptop it runs smooth with vertex options on or off, both .exe's.

On the Desktop it seems a little choppy when my character walks, looks like the camera follow is whats making it look choppy but other characters looked a little choppy as they walked by when I was standing still, vertex options on or off, both .exe's.

If el_pre_rc_26_02_07_no_vertex_programs.exe doesn't crash, but el_pre_rc_26_02_07.exe does crash, do a #glinfo and post the first 3 lines here (not the whole thing!)

Supported extensions: GL_ARB_multitexture GL_EXT_texture_env_add GL_EXT_compiled_vertex_array GL_S3_s3tc GL_ARB_occlusion_query GL_ARB_point_parameters GL_ARB_texture_border_clamp GL_ARB_texture_compression GL_ARB_texture_cube_map GL_ARB_texture_env_add GL_ARB_texture_env_combine

Are you 100% sure it tells you to update the drivers after you updated them? Can you try again?

I have had no problems with any of the pre RC's and the latest two both work fine... but I get the " need newer driver msg " with the no_vertex_programs one (and no msg on the normal exe or any of the other previous Rc's). I just took that as because I wasnt using the vertex programs it thought it was my drivers fault and I needed a newer one. Maybe im wrong ?

i've tried the omega radeon drivers before several times and always seem to have more problems with them.

el_pre_rc_26_02_07_no_vertex_programs.exe loads but with most textures flickering
