Pre RC 7

Yet another Pre RC candidate, this one is slightly more special.

Download it from here: http://www.eternal-lands.com/el_pre_rc_26_02_07.exe (save it in some other folder, not in the EL folder)

Install it in the EL folder

 

Try to run: el_pre_rc_26_02_07.exe (from your el folder). If it crashes, run el_pre_rc_26_02_07_no_vertex_programs.exe

If el_pre_rc_26_02_07_no_vertex_programs.exe doesn't crash, but el_pre_rc_26_02_07.exe does crash, do a #glinfo and post the first 3 lines here (not the whole thing!)

If both crash, do the same thing, but mention that both crash.

 

If none crashes, you don't have to post anything.

The client crashed with vertex enabled. Without vertex enabled the game loaded but the scenery was flickering and wavering.

Using Latest Dell drivers, which are 2 years old (Thanks Dell)

 

Tried the omega drivers with a previous RC and went for crashing on login to crashing before it started.

el_pre_rc_26_02_07.exe: Normally, I get 20-30 FPS. When I run this executable, things start out ok, but then *suddenly*, after several minutes of walking around, the FPS drops to 2, and things are horribly choppy.

 

 

el_pre_rc_26_02_07_no_vertex_programs.exe: Seems to work ok, at a normal FPS.

 

 

No *crashes* from either one.

Hi... curious results. With both clients, On one character (stewbaby) the whole character is invisible altogether, although I can see the name and health bar. Other characters are all visible completely, as are creatures and textures. Only my character is invisible. Alts are all visible when I log on as another char too.

el_pre_rc_26_02_07_no_vertex_programs.exe

worked fine until i went to inside map and panned around, then crashed my entire system like previous RC's

First one of all those clients that doesn't crash on login. Nevertheless, the only thing I can do is walk, can't attack animals, can't talk to NPC, can't enter buildings.

Rolled my drivers back to original version provided by manufacturer to help with testing

 

both versions crash at startup

ok the exe el_pre_rc_26_02_07.exe crashed at log in

but the file If el_pre_rc_26_02_07_no_vertex_programs.exe works fine no probs with it

however on both versions i am unable to click on animals, npc's players, bags. (i can click on things that are in my inventory however)

el_pre_rc_26_02_07_nvidia_fix.exe:

Couldn't find the GL_ARB_vertex_program extension, not using it...

(running el_patch.exe I get "GL_ARB_vertex_program extension found, using it.")

 

No crash when I log in, but I get these screens every few seconds

(they disappear if I click another window i.e. notepad):

So, I updated the drivers:

I get "GL_ARB_vertex_shader extension found, using it."

This version fixed the crash with my:

 

Video card: GeForce2 GTS/AGP/SSE

Vendor ID: NVIDIA Corporation

OpenGL Version: 1.5.3

 

 

But now it says my driver version is too old, which isn't the case.

NVIDIA stopped supporting this card (latest driver version is 71.89)

EDIT:

EL stopped running on my old Laptop with version 1.5, it crashes without a message.

Well I don't expect to run EL on this crappy machine, but there should be at least a message telling that it doesn't run on this hardware.

I got the GLInfo with a software from http://www.realtech-vr.com/glview/

 

Renderer: 650/M650 VGA

Vendor: SiS

Memory: 32 MB

Version: 1.4.0 ( This is the OpenGL version)

new omega drivers dont help at all, the game is unplayable atm for me.

but if i see these posts here, i think everything i saw under ATI Radeon x1400 didnt works properly lol, and the x800 is like 80-100€ so ~ 120$
