Testing the Nvidia fix, part 1

Recommended Posts

If you have an Nvidia card that has problems (crashes) with the previous RCs (where you have rename the shaders directory or start with a specific command line argument), please download: http://www.eternal-lands.com/el_pre_rc_26_..._nvidia_fix.exe

This is not an installer, so you need the data from the RC5 or something. Download this thing in your game dir, and run it without any command line arguments, and report if it fixes your problem or not.

If not, please do the #glinfo and post the first 3 lines (vendor id, opengl version and video card). Don't post the extensions too.

So far, RC 6 is running great.

The only problems I can see(at all) is that Snakes are upside down, and the sky is totally black.(Is it supposed to be?)

FIXED MY PROBLEM!!! here's how:

go to the el_pre_rc_26_02_07_nvidia_fix.exe

right click, open properties

type el main --use_animation_program=0

INFRONT of el_pre_rc_26_02_07_nvidia_fix.exe

should look like this..

el main --use_animation_program=0 el_pre_rc_26_02_07_nvidia_fix.exe

apply

i'd say most nvidia users should try this.....

anyone post if this fixed the problems....

that last (updated) patch runs without problems, even with evtr cave :bow_arrow:

only thing is, when turning the view around, the black areas sometimes light up blue.. tho that might be my driver version being outdated.

I tried installing this patch, but keep getting the following error message:

This application has failed to startbecause SDL_image.dll was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this problem.

Got RC6 working now.

Hi I followed instructions in Aislinn's post and managed to get my Nvidia Go 5300 card upgraded to forceware 163.75 and now the release candidates work fine.
