No crash with /shaders renamed, but I get flashin background images and I can't exit DP storage.

The rock areas on the floor of DP storage flash black about 4-5 times a second. Characters are messed up, but stable.

Here is a link to a screen shot. The rest is dificult to describe.

No, it's not too old, but Nvidia has sucky drivers. All the nvidia cards had this problem until their latst driver release, but it seems that the Go cards didn't get the update :/

Now, try this: Rename the shaders folder back, and remove all the .vert files. Then see if the water works (make the qater quality 2).

I followed your steps in this thread up to here, it "works" with the same problems wingalings has.

I have GeForce Go 7950 GTX and have the newest available driver from Sager, nvidia site drivers do not support Sager.

I tried it, too. This time game worked for a couple of seconds - I actually could click on a crystal to confirm that harvesting doesn't work, and then crashed. infos.log had nothing unusual it, here's the content of error.log:

Since I've posted in the other threads...

New client does NOT have issues with crashing or actor clicking.

Show Reflections still tanks my FPS.

Tried renaming shaders folder, but had no options for water 2 / reflections.

Tried killing just .vert files. Interesting, when I had water 2 + reflections, PV river became lava which I guess means the end of the world as we know it... at least until I restored the .vert files. Also, no .vert means no clicking on actors.

I finally found a version of drivers which works! :)

This one works for me: Toshiba Sattelite ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 driver

Driver Packaging Version	8.413.3-070920a1-053540C-Toshiba
Provider	ATI Technologies Inc.
2D Driver Version	6.14.10.6719
2D Driver File Path	System/CurrentControlSet/Control/Video/{EB475594-BE39-48EA-A7DB-CE00A452F558}/0000
Direct3D Version	6.14.10.0523
OpenGL Version	6.14.10.6849
Catalyst® Control Center Version	2007.0920.2342.40548

The new pre-rc3 works also, but i also have the "not able to interact" bug ...

Windows XP

Pentium 4 2.8 Ghz

ATI Mobility 9700

Removed the .vert files and client no longer crashes on login. Water shaders work with quality 2 and with all setting turned on I'm seeing about a 20% improvement in framerate. I cannot click on actors whether players or NPCs, the client will not switch to trade, attack, or use (when trying to access storage), reflections of my actor seem more parallel then with feet meeting when standing at the waters edge:

Also getting the flickering effect from the brown spots around Raven.

groomsh, I have absolutely no idea how you installed your drivers, but I don't think they are installed.

I remove drivers this way: add/remove program - reboot - run regcleaner - remove all folders/files that are still in install location

And then install the new one and reboot ...

Downloaded and running for the last 3 hours, no problems to report atm. Frame rate went up 15 fps as an added bonus.

As with the other two of them:

Download it: http://www.eternal-lands.com/el_pre_rc_21_02_07.exe

Install it in your EL folder.

Run the client (named el_pre_rc_22_02_07.exe)

If you crash, post your system specs here.

This client should not crash in the maps where the previous ones did.

I crash right after login.

When I update my graph drivers, the game crashes anyhow.

The previous update (old selection) did work for me.

Windows XP

Graphic Card Asus nVidia N6200

Drivers: 91.31

1st login: crashed before to see my character.

2nd login: I renamed folder "shaders" and I logged on.

I was in NC and I thought to go in the second room of Vermor Castle where sometime I get

crash or freezing. Walking in WS, I got:

These screens desappear if I touch another window.

The second room in Vermor Castle still freezing.

I have exactly the same videocard in my laptop and everything is running fine here. Although I don't notice any improvements in loading time, FPS (it's even a little lower in busy maps),... Just the animations are much smoother

Can you give me the link where you got your driver? I can only find the one HP has for my model of laptop, dunno if it makes a difference what brand laptop one has, but I'll try anything.

Just tested this.

When I first tried it crashed when I tried to log in. So I renamed the shader folder as you had asked, and I was able to log in. but I had a rather odd graphics problems so I logged out. I then renamed the shaders folder back and removed the .vert files as you had also asked and still had the same problem. (Oddly enough when I tested the 2nd test client I didn't have this problem.) I also couldn't talk or interact with the npcs or anyone else (as already reported), but I also couldn't enter any buildings or enter the basement in EVTR to check the crashing problem I had when I tested the 2nd test client.

Here are screenshots of the graphics problem

Had had problems with crashing on startup but the new drivers helped (ATI Radeon).

I've noticed a graphics problem though - actors and water (with shader quality >0) aren't affected by fog. Screenshot

<ED>

Snake textures are still "flipped".

Sometimes I got dissconnected when draining animals. No resync, no lag, just an immediate dissconnect.

Thanks :)

I can not run the client at all, it dies when use_animation_program is true (I can log in, but it dies as it begins to draw the actors).

If I

add_var(OPT_BOOL_INI_RO, "use_animation_program", "uap", &use_animation_program, change_use_animation_program, 0, "Use animation program", "Use GL_ARB_vertex_program for actor animation", MISC);

and

Uint32 use_animation_program = 0;

I can log in normally with the shaders/ folder.

Maybe it should be left as disabled by default, and the only way to change it being direct modification of el.ini or %use_animation_program 1 ingame.

I don't understand OpenGL enough to wade in there and figure out where the crash is. I hope this at least points everyone in the right direction.

Sorry for the delay in figuring out what to do to get it back to normal, I just couldn't get my head around the code at all for a while, and whenever I tried to debug the code my debugger caught an unhandled exception in the code that wasn't happening without the debugger :/

I did it the hard way with millions of inserted printf() statements to pin down where the error was occuring, and then I had to figure out how to disable the offending code in the softest possible way.
