Go PK!

Once a month NDD invasion.

Once a month force NDD.

 

All other naturally occuring NDD is fine. That's how it was before and it was fine :P

If once a month, will the same players have bad astro or good astro every time.

I don't want to need to take Skeptic perk. to be able to kill giants/dragons in invasions.

 

I like astro and if many take the perk, was it waste of time to make it/have the stones in game.

only thing i can say about pk on the main server is.. screw you with your pk lol.. on the main server it's too much of "omg i brod yo0" instead of having a normal fight

ppl work too hard for their GC to just throw it away in pk against BroD'ers... let's face it 99,9% of EL BroD's when they cant win.

 

said this long before and i'll say this again, f*ck BroD, take it out of the game and ppl will go pk again..

take BroD out of the game and you'll see that pk becomes more active again..

They will never take it out of the game, it is a way to balance economy. Besides, I don't think it is all about the armor, it is about people's ego.

 

This game needs guilds to actually work together. Get people to actually have a purpose in a guild. You know how easy it would be if people actually took time to use mage/invisibility at same time to take down a high level fighter scoping out kf?

 

That is the problem in game. The "I can't Die Syndrom".

please tell me how it balances economy, ok a few armors might get broken, but is that really worth it to screw up pk?

 

btw i thought this game had no fixed classes? so why would you take a "mage" with you to fight when you can be a one man army with the no fixed classes system?

Personally I have never seen the point of a BROD apart from as an item to piss other players off, but I dont think BROD is the whole issue, maybe part of it but not the whole.. On NDD pk maps are full even with broder's about people just wear Red capes.

On normal days I would say the main issue is the cost of protecting your items if you die, some players just cannot afford to keep spending 16k for a rost.

 

Maybe having a full time no-drop pk map would help ? or make the shop price for the rosto the same as the pk server ?

With the pk server up and running and people spending RL cash both there and on the main, Ent should still make enough money for castle bricks :hehe:

or as someone else suggested before make TD a proper old school pk map .. no COL's, MOL's, no armour over iron chain, no swords over tit/steel long

Let's compromise, once a fortnight :D

Every two weeks gives plenty of time to restock supplies and do other stuff inbetween (esp for the precious Weekend evening slots which lots of players use as primetime EL time)

 

Thats only 24 NDD invasions a year which isn't bad and of course we still have to earn the next one by achieving tasks set.

 

Also then maybe Ent can focus on them more and put mroe time/energy into them as I know for a few recently he has other stuff to do (RL commitments etc I guess) and has left us to it - i'd really like to see the "objective driven" invasions developed a bit more:

escort gicu from A to B,

Hold the city for X time, clear the rooms/caves in x time or move to other maps,

small group of fighters trapped in one location which can only be accessed by very few mobs at a time (2 spaces wide path access or something similar) and the rest fighters have to rescue/fight there way through etc - kinda like a close protection party round gicu/flag and rest have time limit to fight in.

 

Possibilites are endless... :bow_arrow:

@Branch of Destruction: I've never fought a BroDer, AFAIK, but I don't really think that's much of a problem. It's not a weapon that people will use all the time, JS would be more useful. Its main use is to annoy the hell out of players, but that's the risk you take when you go onto a PK map. If my Rapier/CoL were ever BroD'ed I'd be absolutely raging, but at the end of the day I take that risk everytime I go into PK, I've no-one to blame but myself.

 

I think a NDD/Invasion of moderate difficulty every 2-3 weeks would be cool. The Idaloran invasion was just too difficult. Not that I'm suggesting an invasion of rabbits, but maybe something like Armed Male Orcs/Cyclops top. Something that's a safe medium, I.E. if it's too difficult/not popular/whatever, lower level fighters/mages might still have a chance to beat it. Idaloran was just abysmall.

 

After that, depending on the results, the Idaloran invasion could be adjusted appropriately.

 

Magic does need some adjustments too, but I'm feeling too lazy to write up my thoughts. Hell, I'm not even bothering to spell-check this :P

One problem ... people have said they wish high level fighters would help at the NDD invasions.. well if you only have them once a month or bi-monthly you would get less fighters help than there is now.. most would just take that rare once a month chance to stay in pk

I totally agree with con. I think its too much for everyone to get NDD w/ very big invasion... We (fighters) enjoy to PK in NDDs instead of helping others to kill mosthers.... Maybe once a month big invasion is enough IMO... But every weekend Pk NDD should continue...

 

If you wanna try ur chance... Just dont make NDD and see how many fighters ingame then... I know many that comes online only for NDD coz its all fun!! :)

 

One more thing i wanna say about BroDs... I laughed at you much lol :D Cotu is your best friend :icon13:

And this is exactly why the 'non fighters' (if fighters are only pkers) according to your definition are tired of using their essies and breaking armour trying to get another NDD for people who want the advantage of the NDD but aren't prepared to work for it.

 

It seems to me that the reason for the Ida invasions has been forgotten because people now take the NDD for granted or as a 'right' without wanting or believing they should do anything to earn it.

 

Perhaps if NDD go back to being purely random special days that only come once a flood then Pkers who didnt want to work for them will realise how lucky they were that so many others didn't take the same attitude, and help if the same opportunity arises again in the future.

That would be fine if the chance of special days was increased, but to me and maybe im wrong there seems to be less and less special days of any kind, I cant even remember the last sun tzu day ( last one I was online for was 4-5months ago maybe longer) has the chance been decreased ?

 

Im all for mass invasions of any kind but to keep the players interest they must be kept fresh and not just be the same every week, I totally understand that Ent may not have the time every week to think of something new or even participate in the invasions himself, but maybe he could delegate to someone else if he is busy .

To me and its something I have always thought is that a lot of players apathy towards invasions is that there is NO penalties if the invasion isnt cleared and I dont mean losing NDD because people just shrug there shoulders and say " o well try again next week"... but if the invasion wasnt cleared the mobs stayed there till killed or the storage in that map went offline for a week, people might actually think " o shit better do something about it" .

 

With NDD and now the attribute caps big steps have been made to increase pk and changing that would be a backwards step IMO, and yes I know pk isnt all the game but it IS part of it

Maybe more PK now, but it's the samr people who PK.

I see NDD as a way to let people, who not normally PK, test how it is.

The first times I was pking after we got better armor, were on NDDs.

 

People not used to PK need to train on how it work.

The first many times did I forget to use magic immunity - or it ran out.

And how much damage do a thermal serp ? You can only see if you try.

It's not the same as training, you need to find out which ess/pots you need to bring.

And how strong other players are/who not to fight.

 

And a new PKer, who loose rosto after rosto because he need PK-training, will soon go back to harving.

:) that is so true.. I took my first baby steps into pk on a NDD and got bitten by the bug, Im a long way off from being both a pr0 character or pr0 pker but NDD lets you learn in relative safety of not having to spends 10's of thousands of gold on countless rosts just to learn.

Funny thing that you mentinoed it, because I heard that some people can do a 160 harm to the giants.

really? ...i'll go see how much i can harm giants for when i get home...

 

I expect that the people doing 100+ dmg harms are top 20 mages... the prob is, most of the top 20 mages are also very high ranked fighters... these are the same people who neglected to go help kill giants last weekend... so once again, the ability to dispatch giants with relative ease is still limited to those same people.

 

For me to kill yeti/cockatrice is not easy, i have to use pots, i will still break much armors, if i get more than 1 on me; i'm pretty much dead... and that was all before the cap, i have quite a bit less Might now...

But, at least i can make some amount of difference... myself and some other 200-100 ranked fighters will get together and fight.

Giants are just pointless for us, especially when there's many of them on a multi map.

 

...to be fair, i will go try harming giants, and if i can harm for a decent amount, i will come and help as a mage next time there are giants in ida...

 

But based on how things went last weekend, and the attitude of the people who are capable of killing giants, i fear the NDD weekends will be coming to an end... unless the monster is changed from giants to something that a few more of us stand a chance against in melee combat.

I agree with my boss again... We tried to help invasion and tried to kill some giants... i m 200 ranked fighter atm... But its really pointless to be have lots of giants on multi -map :whistle: They actually pwn us :P

 

Well i m afraid of losing weekend NDDs coz i believe i really play EL for it... Its still really fun :P

 

Why dont we have just a PK NDD everyweek and ONLY invasion NDD once a month?

Because invasion NDD is for healers and summoners too, fighters with high or low level, they can all help.

But many of them would get killed as soon as they go to a PK-map.

 

So PK NDD is only for fighters, invasions make all work together, no matter if friends or enemies.

In other words, why doesn't Entropy give PKers NDDs all their own so they don't have to be part of the total EL game but carry on pretending they're their own little separate reality that have no effect on others, and are never affected by others? Mm-hmm.

 

The whole point of the NDD invasions and objective-based invasions is to encourage group activity and cooperation. The NDD is there to encourage people to go face the danger of the invasion. People here complain that higher level PKers just exploit it, like parasites, to play their own game, while making the rest of us work to provide them with a party every week.

 

You seem to be saying, yes, that's a problem. Solve it by giving PKers their party for free so they don't have to do worry about the invasions.

 

I guess it's time for us to stop trying to pretend that EL is one game world, and stop trying to connect invasion fighting to PK. For some people, PvE and PK will never overlap, so I say we invasion fighters should just suck it up and try to figure out what to do with the giants on our own, because we're not going to get help from some of these PKers. And if that means fewer NDDs, oh well. The same small group of PKers can sit in their maps and carry on complaining about how PK is dead on the main server because nobody will do it without NDD.

 

EDIT: Oh, and no, it won't be good for all. The non-fighters will still complain about too many NDDs. :omg:

I think all NON-PKers should stay away fron the NDD invasion next time.

Let the PKers fight if they want another NDD.
