Are you saying that using the 'storage' command stops harvesting? Yes, #sto stops harvesting. This is because instead of dumping storage information it noe opens a storage window. Opening the storage window has always stopped harvest, you just don't notice it all the time because the storages are usually too far away from harvestable items.
