Option to disable 'alt+x'

Recommended Posts

Is it possible to add an option in the configuration menu or the 'el.ini' to disable the ´alt+x' command?

I've accidentally pressed it several times while blindly looking for the 'alt+d' button or equal naturally resulting in the game closing down. Personally I could easily live with having to close down by 'Ctrl+Q' og by '#exit' only.

I'd wish the same option for ctrl+q, I sometimes hit it instead of ctrl+1/2/3.

In fact, one should be able to customize all hotkeys for one's liking.

Yes, please! I have both the ctrl-q instead of number and alt-x instead of alt-s or alt-d problem, plus with my laptop keyboard i can do alt-x just by hitting alt with my thumb :P

Heh...and I was beginning to think that a way to disable it already existed or that I was the only one with that problem since it hadn't been mentioned before in the forum :P

Guess not...

Guess not...

Some key bindings are static, compiled into the client, while others can be changed, unfortunately alt-x, ctrl-q are static:hotkeys (semi incomplete at the moment); however looking at that list, you could change alt-#, alt-s, ctrl-#... :(

Ahh...I just learned a few new shortcuts. Good!

I did not find 'Alt + X' in there though. Like Ermabwed and the list says it seems not to be changeable (as of yet :P )...

For users of the development version, the close game key combos should now be configurable through key.ini by adding a line for K_QUIT or K_QUIT_ALT, like

#K_QUIT = LALT x
#K_QUIT_ALT = LCTRL q

Defaults are as they are now: Alt+x for all systems, and Ctrl+q as an alternative on non-Windows systems.
