Sphere Report post Posted August 15, 2007 (edited) Occasionally I want to shop for some big ticket item (steel plate or somesuch item.) I grab the list of bots from the EL players online page, filter out the bots that I know are not trade bots, and PM the rest to find the item in question. I don't update this list more than every couple of weeks, and these are the bots that happen to be online when I do update the list. **No bot was intentionally ignored. Mistakes will be rectified upon request.** If you want me to edit this list and add your bot, move your bot to a different category, or remove your bot, post below. This is simply meant to be an aid to ppl who want to do some comparison shopping since I had to do it for my own benefit anyway. P.S. This would be a lot easier to maintain if the list of online bots was similarly categorized. ttlanhil Report post Posted August 15, 2007 Vakana does trade, as well as the information, games, and other stuff, so she could be listed with the other trade bots

Sphere Report post Posted August 16, 2007 (edited) Mattamus (trade bot pl, off and on depending on what I am doing to it) And fyi (Corpus isn't an information bot, unless you count death messages ) Added Mattamus (I was thinking of him this morning....=-), and moved Corpus. Just curious what ch 144 is anyway? Lexi: You are very welcome. As I said above, I make this list periodically anyway, so figured I'd post it to see if others could also use it. Frogimus: If it doesn't go sticky, I'll bump it from time to time when I update it (every week or so...) Edited August 16, 2007 by Sphere

crusadingknight Report post Posted August 17, 2007 (edited) And fyi (Corpus isn't an information bot, unless you count death messages ) Added Mattamus (I was thinking of him this morning....=-), and moved Corpus. Just curious what ch 144 is anyway? Corpus is the original guard bot, and was actually created by tacking guard bot functions onto a chatter bot source (already named redknight), which I had lying around... when I finish the next iteration (this time codenamed sentinel, since it's from a clean codebase, drops SDL, and the redknight version system is mess already, with the third-party 'redknight 2' built from the source of redknight 0.5 or somesuch, before it even made version 1 - but I digress), Corpus won't do fortunes or stories anymore - there are plenty of other dedicated chatter bots which do a much better job of it. For the record, 144 was a number I pulled out of the air, and remains an unoccupied channel. Edited August 17, 2007 by crusadingknight
bkc56 Report post Posted August 17, 2007 Kathkusa and SigSegV are JusT guardbots. You already have Nera and Emporium which are JusT sales bots.

Sphere Report post Posted August 17, 2007 Wow! Thanks for all of the updates I removed the guild tags from the guard bots. I had a few requests to do it and figured that anyone who is really curious can find out anyway... Scorpius, she's there. She's in the services bot section. P.S. Thanks everyone. Sphere Report post Posted August 18, 2007 Added all 3 of the missing trade bots. Thanks for the updates. At some point I'll whip up some perl to do the comparison every so often (a little too busy lately.) BKC56. LabRat: TYVM. The bot colouring looks, and works, nice! I added daily summary e-mail monitoring to both threads so that I can keep an eye out.
frogimus Report post Posted August 19, 2007 Maybe overkill, but how about grouping the tradebots by continent, then by map? I play smallscreen so it would be real easy to have a shortcut to the list on my quicklaunch bar...

Elsidor Report post Posted October 7, 2007 Great! Only way you can make it better is if you add what they trade and stuff... 'Cause right now it's kinda... Can't tell one arrow from another. The tips are different, but the feathers are all the same in this guide(the names are different, but there's no thing on what they sell if they're trade bots...). Torg Report post Posted October 7, 2007 the names are different, but there's no thing on what they sell if they're trade bots... That's because there is no reliable way to determine this as people change the inventory of trade-bot's from time to time.

This bot sells for example armor potions and essences, this bot buys essences leather and fur clothing. Not EXACTLY what the bot sells or buys. It would save a lot of time. Torg Report post Posted October 8, 2007 I meant like in the stickied list. They have... This bot sells for example armor potions and essences, this bot buys essences leather and fur clothing. Not EXACTLY what the bot sells or buys. It would save a lot of time. Actually, the sticky'd list is 2 years old and *way* out of date, which is basically my point. I don't think a forum based list that requires someone to manually update it should list what a bot does or doesn't sell.
