Please dont hijack other threads, just create your own one with your very own problem.

And as freeone said, please post your systems specifics, like OS, the *VERSION* of it, your processor, RAM, HD space and such :D

None of those errors is critical... I'd suggest that Freeone's comment about overheating is still the best bet. Please try limiting FPS in ctrl+o (or edit ~/.elc/el.ini ) and see if that helps

I live with Agrilles and have been helping him at home trying to fix this...

His FPS were limited to 50 (they were running 80-100 after I helped him reinstall last night). We should be getting a new fan for the computer within the next week, so we'll see if that helps too. I'll limit him down to 30 and see if that does anything in the mean time.

Finally got a new fan for the computer, but unfortunately it didn't solve the problem. Also, we updated the video card drivers but its still happening. Any other suggestions? ;)

What version drivers are you running and how did you install and update them?

Updated the video card drivers and reinstalled EL again.

We now have this driver:

http://www.nvidia.com/object/linux_display..._100.14.11.html

We have also installed a new case fan into the PC and limited FPS at 50.

Error_log.txt shows:

Log started at 2007-08-02 08:46:10 localtime (EDT)

[08:46:11] Error: Can't open file "quest.log"

[08:46:11] Error: Can't open file "./tmp/temp000.dat"

[08:46:11] Error: Can't open file "commands.lst"

EL is crashing every few minutes on the computer still :D

Followed the steps to get rid of the quest.log and commands.lst entries in the error log and checked to see if I had xgl or beryl installed (I don't, that I can find), still crashes pretty regularly.

My brother Shodokan had somewhat the same problem, we talked to mschoolbus and he helped us fix it, but i think Ubuntu is getting all messed up anyways. Shodo took Ubuntu off his comp b/c of this problem. His comp would pop up a debugger window and start randomly pulling up the trash bin everytime you moved the mouse a little bit. Then his comp would crash. None of this will prob help but i say uninstall Ubuntu and try Fedora Core, similar and better
