mitchell89 Report post Posted June 3, 2007 (edited) With the release of the most recent client (1.4) I am having some trouble. The previous version worked flawlessly never had any troubles or errors of any kind. I followed the instructions, with the release of the newest client, I followed all instructions. However, the game fails to start up. No errors are recieved, just never starts up. I dont see it under the running proccesses so its not like one started up and crashed, thus haulting the opening of another window. I meet and excede the requirements to run the game. Any suggestions as to fixing this problem. If any other information is required please let me know and I can supply. Edit: Ahh, now that I look in the directory there is a error file and this is what I'm getting. "line 1373 in browser.lst is too short!line 1537 in browser.lst is too short!" The_Piper Report post Posted June 3, 2007 Edit: Ahh, now that I look in the directory there is a error file and this is what I'm getting. "line 1373 in browser.lst is too short!line 1537 in browser.lst is too short!" Hmm.. a shot in the dark: Your harddisc is full, so the install wasnt properly completed, so the browser.lst file is corrupted? If no, give more infos. Which OS you are using, what kind of comp/graphics card etc. Piper

ttlanhil Report post Posted June 3, 2007 okay, next up, please confirm you're running the EL client, and not the map editor..? only the editor should be capable of emitting that warning
mitchell89 Report post Posted June 3, 2007 okay, next up, please confirm you're running the EL client, and not the map editor..? only the editor should be capable of emitting that warning Well, I tried running the map editor once I found that I could not run the game. The map editor opens fine. However the game fails to ever open, as I said it does not spit a error message, and i dont see it in the processes.

I completely removed the old version and installed the new one. I fail to see my mistake.

Entropy Report post Posted June 3, 2007 Update your video drivers.. And reboot your computer as well. It is possible that some program (Firefox, for example) is eating all your memory.
ttlanhil Report post Posted June 3, 2007 "line 1373 in browser.lst is too short!line 1537 in browser.lst is too short!"I searched the code. there is no code that can cause this error report in ELC. there is in the map_editor.I'm not suggesting that people using it can't tell the difference, but there is code from the map editor being used (the client doesn't use anything in the map editor, so it can't have come over through includes)
