1.4.0 Map Bugs

Recommended Posts

Found a bug in a map? POST IT HERE! Do not make a new thread for it elsewhere! We want all the map bugs to be posted in ONE place.

Necessary Info you need to have when posting:

-Coordinates

-A detailed description of the bug

-Exact map you are on (for example, say morcraven insides if you are inside a house in morcraven, do not say just morcraven because that would mean you're on the outside map).

--If you know the exact map.elm name that's even better! But it is not necessary.

DO NOT POST A SCREENSHOT WITHOUT THE INFO ABOVE!

You can post screenshots if you want to, but are not necessary at all.

MAKE SURE YOU ARE USING THE MAP FILES THAT COME WITH THE OFFICIAL CLIENT UPDATE!

If you report a bug and you are using different map .elm files, you can get banned from the game!

Guest kake

Has the entrance to the castle in zirakinbar changed? I cannot get in the door. Sorry if this is a new secret or something.

[The entrance has been locked until the next client update. This is not a bug]

I wonder if people might have installed over their old EL, or reinstalled the *R* and/or CEL maps too...

No offense, they are lovely maps but would not yet be compatible with the update.

I had what I thought was a map bug clear because of using *R* maps with new release, in the new WSC Palace. Put new ones back and it worked great!

People are using alternative map.elm files? If I find anyone doing that, and if they are so stupid as to post a bug in these forums with them, they will be banned from the game!

I bet that they are transferring over their maps folder from the old EL folder into the new one and are overwriting the .elm maps as well :)

People are using alternative map.elm files?

I wouldn't think so. They can't possibly be up-to-date. I'd suspect most people are using alternate .bmp files so the tab-maps are more informative (if a bit less artistic).

Edit: I'll bet what Aislinn suggests above is a good guess.

I find 3 "hole" in texture at EVTR, near portal room exit.

Coordinate are near 169,323 for this : tnryfsme.png

And coordinate around 156,339 for the two here : c3hklvw6.png

I hope its no map problem, I use Linux files of that topic.

[FIXED]**There also may be a lot of other bugs just like these, please report them if you see them!

I was using .bmp's from my old map folder (the tab maps). My problem may only have been so glaring as there was some sort of filename conflict (guess). I found another person with this same problem later, and more may surface, as the maps are popular. No need to threaten to ban I hope?

.bmp files have nothing to do with the actual map files, the .elm files. If you find yourself falling through the ground this has to do with the fact that your .elm file is not the same as the one on the server. Reporting "bugs" that are not bugs is what can get you banned...you have to be able to install the client properly and NOT be using altered files!

that's not a bad file (the background texture is created based on the sky colour from the time of day)... sometimes ELC will use the wrong texture for the sky/background... it's not a new bug (I usually get the texture with the hammer and all), but it is pretty rare. if anyone can consistently reproduce it, please make a new thread in bugs/programming so some of us coders can investigate
