Limiting amount of precious items in storage

Recommended Posts

Well, I don't have that one in my logs, but I wonder if that's the same as another excerpt... [03:01:00] [<snip> @ 3]: Selling 38 ELE for 4k each and 336 EFE for 4k each

I imagine it is :)

I tried to buy some of those EFE's too, but was too slow in my PM :D

Anyways, I think it would be a bad idea to limit the amount of specific items we could have in sto for reasons mentioned by others and because some days are busy days and I can easily use up 20-30 EFE's. Chances are I am not the only one that has good days where you mix alot. I keep a stock of around 40+ EFE's for such days. Not everyone that has large amounts of something is just hoarding them. True, there are sometimes weeks where I won't use more than 10 EFE's, but I am not just stockpiling them so they can sit there and look pretty in storage. Even if I were then that is my choice to hold them and decide what to do with them later, in my opinion.

Yes, ok, he has them :)

We'll see in the near future if 250 EFE's have had ANY impact on market prices for EFE's. I don't think so.

I doubt that, at this current rate, they would exit the game in less than a week (on average, we have 30 to 100 going out every day, with about 50 entering).

When i have a headache i dont cut my head.If there are a lot of efe's and serp stones in the game u dont have to decrease the ratio. An item or two can be added that requires an efe and a serp(but it must be a popular one).

I wonder how el will look like when nmt is breakable, the brake ratio is high and the chance to create a rare item will remain the way it is now.

I am an economist-accountant in real life and i could say many things about economy even the economy of rpg games. But this is not my bussiness. Its really funny anyway when i see players trying to act like economists.

economy in real life is a game, just like EL. My country does not lose 6% of it's material net worth in a few days because of some asians decide to screw up their local stockmarket. Economy and soccer are both games played with large sums of money and if it goes bad, you get large riots.

Umm, you might be surprised to know that the guys on top of the stock market do that kind of things as well. For example with the oil.

Ummm giving the oil market as an example is the worst thing you can do. The oil business isn't a real market but just a natural state of monopoly, only a small part of countries can sell oil so they decide the price. It's almost like the thermal serps some time ago when they were the strongest swords and only bought by some people. Then the price was also set by players, and not by supply and demand.

Well, if the prices aren't regulated in some way (in EL if an npc buying or selling items for a fixed price), the price are set by supply/demand, on your example it only show that was little supply for the high demand.

As for oil, there is an international cartel regulating the price of raw oil at the production level. After that, the oil is subject to heavy speculation, resulting at the outrageous prices we have seen, but still in supply/demand basis.

The analogy still stands. A few people control the worldwide oil supply, and a few people control the EFE market in the game (me). I think that 15K EFE are too many in the game, so this number has to be reduced by lowering their rate (which, btw, I increased again last update).

I agree with sithikus and ent.El economy is similar with rl economy and yes there are analogies as ent said.

At the moment el economy is something between capitalism and socialism.A mixed economy system that the state-goverment(in our case ent) is regulating the prices .And i am not kidding at all.

And u really dont want to know what the guys in the top of the stock market are doing and planning...

In all cases they are increasing their money anyway...

Yep, that's pretty much how it is designed, some sort of a socialist system. There is a free market, but there are all kind of checks, so that one will not have everything and others nothing. Of course, it's more complex than that.

As is every government in the world... no country is all socialist or all capitalist, pure capitalism is called anarchy, and pure socialism is called a very lame joke...

Good news. Players are desperate for serpent stones. Name me one bot who sells serpent stones?

PM a bot owner and tell them you'll buy serpent stones for 3000 each and maybe prepay a few, and you'll have a very steady supply (just how desperate are you? ;) ). Lots of bots buy them, and they usually keep them for themselves. If the price is right I'm sure they'll sell...

You fellow a market rule and I agree, but at this point someone need to think a restyling about the stats/ingredients of some item like titanium axe and titanium serp, weapons in the same way of titanium long.

I had no problems to get those serpent stones for a price of 1500 or 2k, not sticking on the price of 1k gc. you can wait for eternity for those who want to pay 3k, because there are a lot of players who have those. Right now I have enough serpent stones. Market rules, just supply and demand.
