Scratch Report post Posted January 8, 2007 I was going to post a traditional pic but had to use this one. I suppose you could use any creature for this idea but the Chupacabra came to mind when I thought of it. It would be attracted to players carrying rostogol stones. It would auto attack anyone carrying a rosto & attempt to drain its power. For each successful hit on a player it would have a chance of rendering the rosto useless. It should have a high attack level to help it get to the Rosto. Maybe it could have the "glow in the dark" perk if you believe they are from outerspace or even better thier attacks could have the effects of the BrOD. pros: This would diminish the overstock of Rostos in the game, forcing people to fight without them & resulting in the "good" drops from PK. cons: Everyone is gonna hate this idea & complain alot. masterpiter Report post Posted January 8, 2007 U r right, there r too many rosts in game, cous there should be noone of them, and u shouldnt loose equiped things when u die. Players r afraid to pk, if they lack of rosto they dont risk to go pking but they make money/buy from el shop for usd ( which isnt the most enjoyable thing;p). U say: if they dont have rosto they should go pk in normal gear, not in armors/weapons that r 200k or more worth. The thing is, they will die very fast if they dont use best equip. If some1 uses bod and u have 150-160hp only, u can die even on 1st hit ( yes, i died like that once to a player who was a lot lower a/d than me, so i know what im talking about But hey, there is still hope that things will be better, just check Ent's blog eMPi
ZureKnightofDarkWorld Report post Posted January 8, 2007 I traditonaly hate the rostos, I can never get them and when i fight others and win they always have a rosto so i cant really get anything from the drop and it quite pisses me off
Cyprom Report post Posted January 8, 2007 For now there are only bronze armor books, but as I've seen in the Artwork Updates images, there will also be a bronze sword. Maybe you can make a special sword with luck (like Jagged Saber of Cooldown and the likes). "Bronze Sword of Rostogol Stone Destruction" or anything like that You know the effect OnT: If a monster like that is implemented, I don't think it should be new. Just add the effect to an existing creature *thinks of Feros*. Maybe summonable? It's not the worst idea, but as you already said, expect alot of complaining

Scratch Report post Posted January 8, 2007 i personally think we shouldn't avoid the problem but delete it I personally don't have a problem with Rostos but many people do. I was just proposing a way to turn a perceived problem into entertainment.

Entris Report post Posted January 9, 2007 If this monster only lives on the PK maps i'm ok with it. Would hate being lucky and get a rosto while harvesting and get out of the cave and this creature pops up and starts chewing on my head Lets do away with Rostos and have the Lady instead lmao i could go with that

Isenguard Report post Posted January 9, 2007 I personally do not like the idea of a monster destroying my rost.....even though i hardly use them anyway as people that have pked me know but if i have full tit. cutlass etc... i'm going to use a rost thats just the way of the game 17k or 175k i rather lose the 17k. cho-yun Report post Posted January 9, 2007 funny name it means "goat sucker" in portuguese and spanish thats becuase in myths there was a creature at night that ate the villagers goats. If with have the chupacabra in game we're going to need goats... if it goes destorys rost does that mean it has like 3/3 a/d and then ALOT of will for health so we cant kill it and stuff then it'll disengage after the rost is destoryed? freeone3000 Report post Posted January 9, 2007 Which is what this is trying to prevent. Rosogotal stones are a cheap way out - much like monster magnetism. It *needs* to be restricted somehow, for the sake of balance. If it didn't work in PvP combat, that would also resolve the issue...
Atlantis Report post Posted January 10, 2007 If it didn't work in PvP combat, that would also resolve the issue... Won't happen, that would improve the game. The game is designed to mainly benefit the rich, and that would shift away from that slightly.
pennifuin Report post Posted January 10, 2007 Perhaps a proposed change to the way arost works would be the best solution? or maybe items just shouldnt be so hard to attain.having such relatively high cost items just creates an elitism and protective approach to property.. No rosto => people wont PvP because of the risk they'll lose hours worth of GC. Rosto => People wont PvP because thy wont gain GC. solution => Overhaul the pricing structure of these items so that these items arent so expensive so that they are too valuale to risk losing. The problem with trying to have elite secialist items with a market which potentially has an ifinite supply (the blacksmith/players) is that everyone, granted they work hard enough, can have one. I dont see the problem with thsi apart from the fact that its got to a stage where it isnt a rare item, its just an expensive one, with no real justification of why it is Expensive. PS, The rosto could just decrease chance of dropping something. say 15% chance to drop anything.

Scratch Report post Posted January 11, 2007 thats becuase in myths there was a creature at night that ate the villagers goats. If with have the chupacabra in game we're going to need goats... No. No goats. That's why it is so hungry for Rostos.
Beaverhunter Report post Posted January 18, 2007 The current top fighters was "raised" with the rostos and being safe for quite a while so why take that away from the current struglers at lower levels that don't want to lose all their hardworked equip? If you want improved pking... why not make it so that Rostogols don't work when killed by a player? Or on a pk-map... or have an reduced effect when pked... There are ppl just not wanting to lose what they have worked hard for aswell...Maybe all you fighters never worked for real, but all other skills you have to work for...and that is LONG time... you don't want to lose that time and have it been "wasted time". Also whats the point of a monster that everyone would just avoid? BAD idea.
Zelse Report post Posted January 18, 2007 Well, the Chubacabra is a popular myth in the hispanic culture, its either a demon, alien or mad science experiment. Whatever it becomes if made in EL then here's what it could do... Chubacabras can be in PK maps(KF), around graveyards (TG), or near farming designs (Grahms Village). But instead of just being there to fight they will run away from anyone who approches them without the stone to avoid fighting. They should be very weak but fast enough not to get caught. However, if someone DOES have a stone, the monster can follow them around (safe distance out of spell range) being drawn to the stone. The monster will follow the person holding the stone until s/he is attacked by another fighter/monster. When this happens, the Chupa will join in the battle and fight until it takes/destroys the stone. pros for people using the stone: if there are enough people on the same map with rostos and they outnumber the chups, then they could remain 'undiscovered' until a chup finds them out. Also, you have a chance to kill them and keep your stone (they could have a 50/50 chance of taking the stone with each successful hit) pros for people without the stone: If you see one of those monsters following someone, then you can help the monster take their stone! Your life may be taken with it (the pker kills you cause s/he's stronger and mad about losing the stone). cons: how can it react to MM perk/cloak? The rest of the cons are intwined with the pros depending on which you are: with or w/o the stone.
