Download http://www.eternal-lands.com/el_update_133_rc.exe Install it in the NEW EL folder (the one you just created) Edit el.ini and change the port address to 2001 Click on el.exe in the new directory. See if there are any problems, see if you can go in the new maps (don't ask where they are), and so on. Post here any problems you might have. P.S. The Linux and Mac client are not available yet, but if you really want to test, compile the CVS client and use wine or something to extract the new files. When I ran it, it hiccuped, like it was doing an auto-update. #ver gives me 1.3.2p9 Here's the rub. I'm completely, and permanently invisible. To myself, anyhow. scaf Update: When I was in the first room of Vermor, I was getting a resync every second step. Also, when I tried to create a character, it bombed. Final Update(it's late): I tried Acelon's suggestion of rerunning the update. No improvement on the invisibility. Interestingly, when I sit, the perspective doesn't change, but I know that I'm seated. Really Final Update: How to get it to work Do everything that ent said to do, but before starting the client the first time, delete (or rename) mirrors.lst. If you already ran it once, rereun the update and nuke mirrors.lst before you start the client. I can see again! I hope this is the right place for this, as this is a very minor thing - North Redmoon 102,136 - there is a big dark square on the ground, as if a house is casting its shadow, but there is no house. The same for 98,161, 115,155, and other places. It seems like a shadows problem, so it could be a problem with my video driver. Edit 1: You can enter Irsis from the Emerald Valley Trade Route map, and exit to Emerald Valley Trade Route Idaloran maps, but you can't enter Irsis from the Idaloran map. Edit 2: The exit from the blacksmith cave in PV is no longer working (it used to work in the past). Edit 3: The bridge to that island is WS is nice, but my chars still walks next to it in the water, and not on it. Edited by Roja: Can you please be more specific with "edit 3"? I don't know where you mean so I can't possibly fix it. Edit 1=fixed. OK, I mean the bridge between WS Riven sea's coast to the island which lead to C2 - in the new client you can see a half-sunk bridge (there is no bridge in the previous clients), which I assume the character should walk on, but instead my character walks alongside it on the water. That is a partial update that does not include a lot of files that is part of the normal game. Reread Entropy's instructions, step 1 is to make a copy of the EL directory. That is a partial update that does not include a lot of files that is part of the normal game. Reread Entropy's instructions, step 1 is to make a copy of the EL directory. Of course I did it - I made a copy of the entire EL directory, and then installed the new update there. This directory included all the files the current client has, plus the new files from the update, so this isn't the problem (all the maps in the game worked). Edit: Also - there is no /3dobjects/structures/locks.bmp file in the normal client directory, and the error log doesn't show this error. Edit by Roja: No because we have no way to taking it out without another client update. actually, since the server sends the map file name to load, you'd only need to have both versions in an installer, then probably only a server config change and restart (to ensure everything is transitioned right) to go to a different one (there are probably a few server code issues, and the download would be bigger, but it should be reasonably easy if you were keen to do this) Share this post Link to post Share on other sites
