Hey, I met Gopi and i explained to him why what he does is bad and stuff, he said he didnt know about it and he also said that hes been trying to "Repent" for all the scams hes done and stuff, hes only gona be playing EL for another 2 weeks he said and he wants to spend those 2 weeks being nice ok? so i dont think that hes an outlaw anymore =)

Sure - and the fact that he did what I posted just today shows he means it, right? If he doesn't know that scamming is bad (which I don't for a second believe) should I take that to mean that he doesn't think lying to get himself out of a predicament is bad either?

 

2 weeks before a scammer leaves the game? I don't know whether to say "yay only 2 weeks before another negative element is removed from the game" or "I'll believe it when I see it"

 

Until then he had better know that myself and many other players will remain vigilant. Sorry if that offends you, but why should we be scammed or allow others to be scammed?

I've had this guy try the same thing on me but I kinda smelt something fishy about it so I told him I couldn't fight large spiders yet. It seems that he is doing this constantly.

(Edit: To Derin and all others, I am not an outlaw and never be one, i sided with Gopi simply because i have never seen him do anything wrong, he has always been nice to me and i even saw him give somebody their db back containing full iron pl8, now labrat pm'ed me in game explaining to me that gopi used to be some guy named baldi, i did a search and realized that i had been tricked, Gopi had told me that he was new and said he wouldnt be an outlaw anymore, i believed him out of the kindness of my heart and now i have proof that hes not what he made me think he was, so plz, STOP ATTACKING ME I THOUGHT HE WAS A GOOD PERSON!

Give it up, your position is untenable. He knows exactly what he is doing, where to go, what to say. He obviously lied to you (well, you say he talked to you.. chatlogs perchance?)

 

It is honourable to support someone under attack, but watch that he doesn't take you down with him. He is still scamming, two chatlogs posted by myself and one from another player make that abundantly clear. Choose your sides more carefully. Support him if you must, but personally I would run a mile.

While you may believe Gopi is a reformed scammer, I am not convinced

 

Sometimes you've got to take responsibility for the consequences of your actions. If he's truly reformed, he can go about finding everyone he scammed and hurt and repay them the items he took. When I start seeing posts from multiple people who he's hurt saying the wrongs have been righted, then I'll believe he's reformed. It will take more than words. Look how he's used words in the past - certainly not to be trusted then and words alone will not bring me to trust him now.

Obviously you have no idea of what you are talking about. Scamming is not illegal, but all players hate it, and siding with scammers will usually rub off on the one siding with the scammer.

So try to get some evidence before you post. Then again:

IMHO, quitting an outlaw behaviour is not the same as quitting training on goblins for instance. Even if you stop outlaw actions, some players will still look susipicously at you, and you will need to earn respect again... not in one hour, really.

But of course no one is doomed to be outlaw forever - lets remember benfish who was a synonim of bagjumper, and now is a honorable and friendly player.

But gopi is not all n good now, he tried to scam sub of ^v^ today, by asking for pvp. He is of much lower levels than sub, but sub came, and 2 PkG people came & attacked. Sub diss and teled, and gopi asked again for pvp at nc cave. He went again (this time with protection ) and, of course, the PkG guys were there again

Yup, that's one of his normal ones - you're the third person to post him doing that.

 

Funny thing is, when he saw me in there (I was helping a guildie), said guildie died and he got the bag before I could. After a while and him saying"should I give the bag back or keep it like the scammer you say I am", he gave it back. A short while later the guildie died again (hurry up and get some decent stats WW ) so I went to rescue it, Gopi saw me and asked if I knew who died, I replied in the affirmative, he dropped a bag full of items.

 

The question now is, would a scammer return two deathbags?

 

Well, considering the fact that he knows I have no qualms about shouting misdeeds from the rooftops, I'd say it was just self-preservation kicking in.
