isle of the forgotten

Recommended Posts

SO what exactly is the deal with IOTF? It isn't that people forgot about those islands. It is as if the islands themselves forgot that there were buildings on them. Soon, there'll be nothing left, only those with VERY keen senses can see the island as it was, to most others, it will be nothing but another piece of ice below the polar circle, with bears and wolves and nothing else. Or is this place an actual gateway where two worlds come together? The legendary C3 might be there, for whoever knows the path.

The story, loosely told, is that the islands were disappearing for reasons unknown. One of the residents of the Isle, Dryx, wanted to save his home before the isle, and its residents, disappeared into the ether. He searched the isle for an answer, a found one.

A small spring was visible in the ground on one of the isles, and it actually turned out to be part of the magic stream, flowing under the Isles. In hope to find an answer, Dryx jumped into the magic stream, and it tore apart his physical being, leaving only a spiritual form. His spirit was thrown out of the stream into an unknown place. He walked for what seemed like days until he finally came across another being, Dvar.

Dryx knew this must be the answer to his problems, and explained the dealings of his home to the Shadow God. Dvar was impressed of all the hardships Dryx has had to deal with, and decided to give Dryx the power to save his home, thus rising him to minor God level. Dvar made Dryx promise never to speak of his location, and that he had never come in contact with him.

The Greater Gods were confused on where Dryx had recieved enough power to rise to minor God level, but Dryx would never speak of Dvar's secret, creating his stance as the God of Secrecy. The Isle is now maintained by Dryx's power. He was not able to restore what had already disappeared, leaving only the etheral structures of most structures on the isle. Due to his great sacrifice, the residents of the isle can no live in peace, and without fear of further disappearance.
