Alderan Report post Posted September 26, 2006 This is the brain teaser game. I ask a brain teaser/riddle, and when (if ever ) you give the right answer, you get to ask the next one, and the person that get's it right gets to ask the next one, and so on and so forth... So, here it goes. There are two doors, and two computers. One door goes to Heaven, and the other door goes to Hell. One computer always has to tell the truth, and the other computer always has to tell a lie. But the thing is, you don't know which door is which, or which computer is which. The computers know which door is which. You can ask 1 of the computers 1 question, to find out which door goes to Heaven. What question must you ask to figure it out? Please don't just do a google search for the answer, that's no fun. Why is it two computers and not two people or something? Well I have no idea, this is just how I heard it told. Have fun, and don't kill yourself tryign to figure it out.
Acelon Report post Posted September 26, 2006 I guess you would "type in" on the computers.."What would the other computer tell me if I asked which door would take me to heaven". Then you'd pick the opposite door the both said. If that is right, here is mine. In operating, a cycle. In duelling, a thrust. In playing, a throw. In bidding, a decline. In a bar, a try. In racing, a move. In scaling, a way.
Ermabwed Report post Posted September 26, 2006 Hmm, but you can ask only one question... but maybe that's just not worded precisely enough.

Wingalings Report post Posted September 26, 2006 Its a pass. Starting with a five letter word, change one letter to create a new word. Then change that word by one letter to create another new word, and so on. For example, DOG, DIG, FIG etc. These words in turn mean: a gaggle of geese a device for measuring time what you can do with a mouse a baby chicken a device to prevent wheels from moving a surprise a small house a pile of cards a small piece of wood unable to move

Ermabwed Report post Posted September 26, 2006 Not, its not a turn. And erma, they all have something in common. I meant the question before yours, I was under the impression that you could ask only one question total, not one question per computer There's enough geeks playing EL that could just take both apart and get the information out w/o asking them any questions

Alderan Report post Posted September 27, 2006 I meant the question before yours, I was under the impression that you could ask only one question total, not one question per computer There's enough geeks playing EL that could just take both apart and get the information out w/o asking them any questions You do only get 1 question total. The thing is, you will get the same answer no matter which computer you ask, provided you ask the right question. If I go up to Computer1 and ask "What would the other computer say if I asked it where door number 1 goes?" If it is the computer that tells the truth, it knows that the other computer would lie and say it goes to hell, so of course, it tells you the other computer would say it goes to hell, that means that door number 1 goes to heaven. But how do you know if it's the computer that tells the truth? Doesn't matter. Because if it turns out it's the computer that always lies, it would know the other computer would tell you the truth and say that door number 1 goes to heaven, so it tells you the other computer would say hell (it's lying of course). Therefore, the door must go to heaven.

Acelon Report post Posted September 27, 2006 One day, radu decided to give a n00b a break. But not a total break, as we shall see. So, he invites him into a room in a hidden map with seven doors. There is also a large-screen projector that magically projects the following five images, repeatedly, one at a time: A human brain, Draia, the incomplete phrase: “Fair and ____,” the letters AZCONMUT and a cheese sandwich on plain white bread with the edges perfectly cut off. The n00b was allowed an entire day to study the images, after which he would have to choose the door that corresponded to the commonality of the images. The next day the n00b walked through the correct door, and radu made him rich. What door did the n00b choose and why?
