What is your political compass score?

Recommended Posts

Economic Left/Right: -6.13

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.72

between the dalai lama and mahatma ghandi

not that it's that accurate... the question/answer format is too restricted... for example, should marijuana be legalised? I had to go with no... what would I have?

yes, make it as legal as cigarettes. you have to have a properly built room that ensures the polution doesn't harm anyone else(yes, that's for cigarettes too). my answer isn't about people using it. it's about people forcing others to (second hand smoke, etc). which probably isn't the idea

and of course you don't drive or work or anything like that while under the influence (like alcohol)

plus some of those questions are pretty poorly worded... use of double-negatives, etc

still... it wasn't too far from accurate

I've only seen four positive scores so far... is this a reflection of EL's population or something to do with the way the questionnaire is structured? Most people seem to be in the negative/negative category (collectivist libertarian). Maybe everyone just wants to be like Gandhi. :)

My own:

Economic: -2.92

Social: 0.82

Your political compass

Economic Left/Right: 0.50

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: 0.46

And I had several "strong agree's" and "strong disagree"s". Hmmm...just a center of the road, no peaks or valleys kind of guy. Can't we all just get along?

I got Chaotic Good. Pretty much confirmed what I suspected.

Actually it was close to the Ghandi score, seems to be the trend.

It's interesting to see how it changes over time, i moved from Mandela closer to Dalai Lama since the last time i did the test.

I've always thought I'm more right-winged...

However the answers for tax questions are different in different countries.

OMG, how did they learn what were the political beliefs of Pope John Paul II ?

I did this test a year or so ago. I will have to look up that other forum, so that I can do it again and compare.

It is good to see that people realise that political attitudes have more than one dimension / degree-of-freedom. Sometimes I think that even more dimensions might be appropriate though.

Quite an interesting questionnaire. Usually they are bullshit, but this one actually asked some decent questions.

I also disliked the choices. It was so hard on some of those questions to answer honestly because I seriously felt indifferent about some of the subjects.

I scored:

Economic Left/Right: -3.38

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.49

[EDIT]

OFFTOPIC: The use of "An eye for an eye and a tooth for a tooth." annoys me. This phrase is grossly taken out of context (although in this context, it is ok) in so many situations, and rarely do people know what the actual meaning or words said in that passage.

but some questions sounded weird to me, tho...

we have health insurance from the government and full freedom in our bedrooms, here, for instance. ^^

My scores are:

Economic Left/Right: -0.75

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.51

I found some of the questions a bit "loaded" - there was no option I felt comfortable with.
