What is your political compass score?

Recommended Posts

I also disliked the choices. It was so hard on some of those questions to answer honestly because I seriously felt indifferent about some of the subjects.

I scored:

Economic Left/Right: -3.38

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -3.49

I agree with you on that...I took something similar to this not too long ago, and I felt the same way about that one.

Economic Left/Right: -4.25

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.44

Your political compass

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -6.87

Here I am:

Economic Left/Right: 1.75

Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.62

I also didn't like many of the choices/questions. This questionaire is far too simplistic to accurately understand any persons position on an issue. About one question per issue means that the wording of the question gets a lot of weight...

Still, my numbers aren't too far from accurate.

What can I say....labeled again. Lol

I can usually find something to agree about with anyone.

Note that even John Kerry gets moderately positive scores in both categories - so people getting around 0 in both categories are actually way off in left field.

Wow, we are a bunch of communist anarchists :D

Everybody is, ideally, right? We all want a utopia where we all share everything and there is no need for government intervention... Too bad it seems to not work in reality.

pfft it will never work, some people are natural leaders, some are naturally subversive. Communism is a great ideal, but in real life situations can never work as it was first designed, only corrupted forms of it can ever function.

Yeah, communism in theory is good, but the history has proven many times that we are not [yet] able to implement it properly.

The socialism, on the other hand, it's relatively successful, for example most of the Europe is based on Socialism, and so are other countries as well.

US, on the other hand, has very high taxes as well, only that 1/3 of the federal money goes on 'defense'. Gee, I wonder why the US needs so much defense.

I'll take the US high taxes over the high taxes some of the European socialist countries have. (75% in some places, I have heard)

But no matter which way you look, it all comes back to you. I'd rather have high taxes, but have things like better health care and better education. That way the wealth is better spread for all. The only spending of taxes I don't like seeing is the destructive or military kind.

Holy crap...In in there with gandhi... this thing must be broken

Guess I'll have to ease back on the a/d training

As to tax levels etc. in european countries...having lived in a couple of them... certain governments (france in particular) seem to be resonably good at redistributing the tax money... health care over here is good and the standard of education is high, but as with everywhere else, the gap between 'rich' and 'poor' is growing...

I pay a more in tax than I did in the UK but I feel I'm actually receiving a service in return for what I'm paying. On the social side there is a real feeling of society and the importance of family (in the wide sense of the word - not just mum, dad and kids) rather than money... weekend working is rare for most people... most everything is closed on a sunday.

As to military spending...well, imho a lot of that is down to human nature...nothing pushes humans to innovate, create and invent faster than fear... it's a survival instinct that is very strong.

Yea, when I saw how slanted some of the questions were I stopped filling it out. The bias is just a bit to obvious to think the results will be meaningful.

Yeah lol US doesn't have high taxes at all. European countries have! I'm from belgium and I can tell you we lose about 50-60% of our earnings to taxes. US is known in europe for having low taxes ;)

Here the taxes (for the self employed) are about 30-50% depending on the income, where you live, etc.

On top of that, you have to add the house taxes and various other local taxes, again, depending on where you live and the local laws.

And what do I get in return? Not one god damn thing.

Now, I am not a xenophobe, but I pay 5% of my income for medicare, and that money goes on illegal emigrants that abuse the US healh service. If I have a problem and need to go to the doctor, I have to pay big $$$ from my own pocket; the government won't pay shit for me, a tax payer.

BTW, did you know that 3 TRILLION (one trillion is 1000 billions, or 100000 MILLIONS) of the federal money is unaccounted for? Just plain dissapeared! WTF...
