I voted "its ok". The ranges are not so clea, many people might thing that an amd64 running in 64bits at 3000+ is very very fast. For me it is just ok, so I clicked that.

I run in el under a 64bits linux instalation (no multilib, no anything, pure 64 bits from the first day I bought it).

i took a eMachines T6212 added a gig of ram brining the total ram to a gig and a half then i bought a radeon x1300pro graphics card since the original graphics card is built in the motherboard... anyway its nice now considering the only part i payed for with my own money was the ram :)

I built my machine with a friend. I used to know what all the parts were called but I've forgotten their names now. I do know the graphics card is an Nvidia 660. Or 6600... one of those.

Ok, this is the one I am on currently (it's Michelle_F's - mine went bang because The Fonz was taking all the cool away from my CPU):

Firstly, the title is totally wrong - the question should be "Which operating system do you use?"...

As multiplatform developer i must say it is a very difficult question - i use many operating systems, even at home.

Maybe Linux would bethe right answer because i think use it more than other OSes (GNU/Hurd, Windows, eCommStation, QNX)

I have 6 computers at home. The one i use to play EL is, as you would see, pretty average machine - P4 2GHz, 512MB RAM, nVidia GF5200 128MB, and I run GNU/Linux on it.

I too have an issue about the question - it's asking what computer you use, but referring to the OS, not the computer... Must be a real loyal minion of Bill Gates. :devlish:

Lessee, my main computer (actually mine) is a home-built AMD AthlonXP 2000+, 512MB RAM, 64MB Geforce2 MX/MX400 video card... it's about 3 years old now, I figure. It has WinXP Pro SP2 OS.

The other comp on my network, that I use on occasion is a Pentium 4 (not sure how fast), 128MB RAM, and some kinda Intel video card - runs EL ok, but not great. Has Win2K Pro SP4 OS.

I use mandrake 10.1 linux distribution on an AMD duron 900 with 768 MB Ram.

I can even work on an virtual OS (windows me) for optional work if I needed to.

It is very old machine, and is fast enough for everyday tasts.

I had a windows partition (windows me), but I erase it since it was despertly slow.
