EarlGrey Report post Posted February 18, 2004 Hi, I'm new to RPG, where a term like 'To hit' is probably well-known by all. But I'm a little confused: What's the diference between 'Damage' and 'To Hit' ? Which one is more important to increase? Hope you can help a stumbling Earl! Kasgoroth Report post Posted February 18, 2004 I'm sure others can explain better (especially the dev's as they know how various stats affect each other), but I'll try: Every time you swing your sword (staff, hammer, whatever...) at a monster/animal/player there is a chance value kicking in and you either HIT the monster inflicting damage or you miss it making NO DAMAGE at all. To Hit increases your chances to land a positive strike on your rival inflicting damage upon him, as opposed to missing and doing no damage. Damage itself means how many points you will be able to detract from his health on a successful strike. How exactly armor affects the amount of damage that is absorbed on a successful strike is a question to the dev's. I'd like to know it myself
