Questions

Recommended Posts

I am currently making a map for my guild. I have some questions that I need answered so as to continue making it. Here they are:

1. Can you create monster/animal spawns in the guild map? If so how?

2. How would I create a portal/door to get to the original game maps?

3. How do I make an inside map?

4. Once I have made the map how would I go about getting it integrated into the main game?

5. Who would I pay and how much for said integration?

6. What would be the method of said payment?

7. Is there a size limit to the maps I can make and have integrated into the game?

8. Can I put harvestable materials in my map? If so how?

9. If i get my map integrated into the game would we have to re-install it? Or re-download it?

That is all I have for right now but I will probably have more later as I continue production on the map.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could answer these questions for me. :(

Thank you, and good day.

First off, I would suggest to you that you read this:

http://www.eternal-lands.com/mapmakers/mapeditor.html

and this:

http://www.geocities.com/aworldwithoutwind/maptutorial.html

and then after you do that, and practise...

Nake a copy of one of the maps already ingame, and load it up into your mapeditor. (Once you have read what I gave you links to, you will understand what I mean and how to do it.)

You need to pick 2, one for an outside map, and one for insides, so you can see how each is done.

1. No

2. You will need to make a .def file when you are done, don't even worry about THAT until you are done with your map. That is where you set things like rain, teleportals, clicking on doors, stuff like that.

3. Will be answered when you read and do those tutorials and look at a current ingame map.

4. You need to send it to Roja in an email for her to look it over and approve it.

5. You would pay Roja and Entropy $200 for the right to have your map placed ingame.

6. You would most likely pay through paypal, but talk to Roja and/or Entropy about other methods they may accept.

7. 64 x 64

8. No

9. You would have to wait for the next available update for it to be ingame.

8. Can I put harvestable materials in my map? If so how?

You can, but you must disable the harvesting in the .def file. This means that you can put flowers in it, but you can't harvest.

If you'd like, you can get official mapmakers to do it for you.

That way, it'd be easier for you, but you'd need to explain exactly what you want, etc.
