ALL out war comments/sugestions

Recommended Posts

:medieval: Now that the all out war has been completed (it was a blast for me hopfuly for all)

I would like some feed back on any ideas/changes, things added for the next time.

Also how often we should have a event like this. (please be realistic)

all ideas welcome as long as they are not flames and within the relm of being relistic.

Keep in mind things like the mods need to have time to prepair also.

We are all on different time zones.

I would also Like for the mods that helped with todays all out war to give there input.

(also a big thank you to all the were there today mods and gamers alike) :hiya:

here is what i have seen from comments

1] 2 teames

2] ele limmit for each team

3] have captions for each team (let them pic teams round robin style) we could ask a mod to monitor this on a channel.

4] have a clear goal for a win (ie kill target person/people, get target bag .......)

5] Have all members of a team in same guild 1 game day in advance.

6] a death limit.

I will add more as they come in

Thanks all for the coments/sugestions

I was pleased with the turnout and the event overall..I know there is room for improvement, and im sure the next war will be even better...Thanx to all the moda that showed and helped out, to zep and anti for getting the guild bots going, and to all the fighters (big and small) that fought as hard as they could.

EL ROCKS!

There was really no end to the war, which was cool in some aspects but if there was some sort of challenge with it (like kill the teams target/captain), that'd be cool :medieval:

no doubt the war was fun for us all for next time if we all get prepared even if it means being booted from our guilds the night before it might run smoother and the die only once rule so that there could be a winner in the war?!? anyways thnx every1 that ran it :medieval: it was a blast even if i had to walk back from hell 5 times

i think it was verry bad organised

2 teams is enough

also all friends of the host where in the same team, and My friends where in team B and C, that means we team up vs team A ofcourse ..

also

we need team captains

ELE limit (20 a team woudl be good)

Level limit (50 a/d, or something)

1 Life, cant come back after dead

Mods at evry entrance of KF, maby even at the place where u come from teleportal

and CO cave

NO Pole jumping/leave map/enter No-Pk zones, make a bag with supply in your fort

Guilds in 1 team if possble, cuz when they see eachother in the battle they wont attack eachother and just walk past

and with the bots was verry bad , we all had to join it last minutes before the fights, it was anoying..and then the colors wernt set up yet etc

Was good overall, would have been helpful if you had put in your original post that we had to join a guild, and the teams could have been better thought out, our team ended up being rubbish compared to the rest.

The trouble with setting limits like that shiv, is its against event rules.

The bots were last minute, Anti had planed to run them, However wasnt able to finish his coding, So we used mine, with about 1 hours notice.

to top it off, dragons and my net connection was down for 2 hours prior to that, We were unsure if we were going to even have a net connection to get online with.

Stole a friends dialup in the end.

Summon limit is okay i think

yeh lvl limit is maby agaisnt the rules, but in EAF there r also Level limits..

and if i would host a war, i could just be picky and not pick 30 a/d people cuz they r pretty useless, hard but the truth

Was this the story?

The Fight for Fort Baarg

After the Great War, the three guilds of Baarg, Garisn and Mardyn were nearly wiped out by the orcish and undead armies. The Forts that had so long dominated the roadways and coastlands of Kilaran Fields were now left empty and desolate. The scattered survivors of the guilds tried to re-establish control of their territories, but soon fell out amongst themselves again and exterminated each other in the year following the Great War.

At that time, the curse of Mortos had not yet fully stabilised, so it had resulted in the formation of skeletons out of the souls of the guild soldiers that had died in that tragic battle. Over time, these skeletons chased out all newcomers to the Fields, aided and abetted by a goblin tribe that had moved into the area.

However, there were rumors that there existed a secret treasury in Fort Baarg, holding untold numbers of gold coins and jewels, hidden away by a magic key. Excited by the prospect, the dwarven miners of Mynadar tried to mount an expedition to explore the remains of Fort Baarg, but were chased out by the skeletons.

Not to be deterred, they began hiring mercenaries to form a troop of soldiers to protect them while they looked for the secret. These elite group of soldiers called themselves the Red Eagles, and escorted the dwarves out to Fort Baarg to begin explorations.

Word got around to the town of Corren, in Desert Pines. They had always been bitter economic rivals with the dwarves at Mynadar, the profits from the Crystal Caves competing against the productivity of the gold mine in the Valley of the Dwarves. When the townsmen heard that the Mynadar dwarves may be on the verge of finding the secret treasury of Fort Baarg, they immediately began to hire their own group of mercenary soldiers to disrupt the miners efforts, and win control of the Fort for the people of Corren. The Blue Streaks, famed for their lightning-fast hit-and-run attacks, came to their call.

Now, at the end of a week of explorations, the Dwarven miners are about to break the secret. The Red Eagles, quartered in Fort Baarg, have been protecting them from the skeletons and goblins roaming the fields. However, a new threat is about to descend upon them, in the form of the Blue Streaks. This battle will determine which of the two towns - Mynadar or Corren - will control access to hidden treasury of Guild Baarg.

I do agree there should be a goal for the next one, like last team with most players left wins..(to be counted by a mod of course)

Heh..

It started at like 15:30 or so.. If people aint there by the time, or in the guilds, don't let them in.. As for n00bs coming in all the time.. Just makes it worse.. I musta killed about 10-20 people who wasn't suppose to be there.

And I noticed that 90% of UTi was on the red team.. Then they had Doctor.. Maybe make the teams.. Abit more fair? ... Like Shiv said, a MAX amount of summons per team.. like 10-20 would have been better.

But otherwise it was ok.

 I didn't get to play. My poor planning led me guildless and unable to join another for 2 ingame days

*repeatedly kicks self* :(

I trained hard for a month straight for this and am sooo disappointed. My stupid mistake.

Anyhow...

We all live, and hopefully, learn

I think perhaps the teams could be better picked by the team captains aquiring stats for all people entering the contest.

Then, hopefully have the assigned teams announced maybe one week before the event. That would leave room for the teams battle tactics.

I like the idea of only dying once.

And the team with the most players left after the other entire team(s) is defeated can be declared the winner.

How often should we have these?

Maybe quarterly? Don't know if that is too much.

Glad you guys had fun though. And I can't wait to see some screenies! :D

I would guess Red team did.

...We got owned repeatedly by the blue team until we were finally able to regroup in that last... 10 minutes?

I think the blue team won. They had the best communication and held together the best.

For the next war we probly need to be a little more organised with the bots.

I would also like it so that you only get 1 or a limited set of lives say 3?

The way that i would implement it wouldbe to have atleast 4 bots. perhaps with some haveing moderator privelages.

There should be one in the underworld to count people as they die and notify people, perhaps nelson could be reserected?

Then there would be 3 bots sitting on the entrance to watch for people re-entering the maps after they die and give one or all of them ranks as moderators so they can be demigod and not attackable and have permission to send people to the wraith if they have already died and are out of the game.

The next war should also have a goal this could be a person being marked as a target that your team has to protect this could be a bot. There could be a person that you have to rescue this could be a moderator that you have to rescue by going into the enemy base and standing next to them and then escort them back to your base to score points makeing it sortof like a capture the flag idea.
