I dont really get joker, he looks like a regular person and doest look funny at all and gives away worthless random stuff. I have come up with some suggestions to improve joker.

 

When you see joker, he is a barrel with a clown face on it. You click on the barrel and a green gnome jumps out and hands you a mysterious potion. You drink the potion and gives you some random effects(of course you dont know the effect untill you drink it so you dont know whether is a postitive effect or a negative one.

 

Positive Effects

Exp Potion: gives random amount of exp to a random skill exp is 500-5000 exp

Pick Potion: gives you a pick point

Teleport Potion: Teleports you teleport room 5 uses

Haul Potion: Adds 10 emu to your carry cappacity

Perk Potion: Gives you a random positive perk for 1-6 ingame hours(afk counts)

 

Negative Effects

Poisoned potion: Poisons You Twice the effect of snake bite

Death Potion:Kills you right away like regular death

Heavy loss potion: Kills you and you lose ALL your items

Neg Perk Potion: Curses you with a neg perk for 1-6 ingame hours(afk doesnt count)

Load Potion: Temporarily decreases your max emu by half for 6 ingame ours(afk doesnt count)

Anti Teleport Potion: You cant use teleport rings, spells or use the beam command. Also cant use ships.

 

This will add some excitement to the bland boring jokers.

 

Edit: I edited my post so that the penalties of the load and anti-teleport potions are more severe.

Yeah, I like these ideas. I was really dissapointed the first time I found joker, and all I got was a loaf of bread <_< . But, the anti-teleport potion and load potions really wont do much to you. I for one, have never even used a teleport ring, and I rarely carry all 320 emus i can carry, usually about 20-30 less.

I always imagined joker as a court jester. You know, colourful clothes and those hats with the bells on the spikes... Then I found him and my heart broke.

I kind of like the idea, but, given that it's hard to find him in the first place, I think he should give out only positive things. I'd probably skip him all together if there was a chance of getting anything negative.

Maybe the prizes could be improved a tad, since hes harder to find now. But I don't think he should give out anything negative, otherwise he wouldn't be worth looking for.

and giving pickpoints/emu is bad and unfair

 

well, or let the joker give evryone 5 PP's max.

and 100 Emu max.

I like the idea of having more variety to the Joker prizes, but also remember that the Joker is more of a fun thing, than something genuinely useful.

A few comments:

Could work if the xp amount is in the lower range

Pick Potion: gives you a pick point

This is a bad idea, pickpoints should not be given, nor attributes.

Teleport Potion: Teleports you teleport room 5 uses

Maybe a scroll (or potion) with one use, not 5

Haul Potion: Adds 10 emu to your carry capacity

In any case this should be timed, like: adds 10 emu for 1 hour, non-cumulative.

Perk Potion: Gives you a random positive perk for 1-6 ingame hours(afk counts)

This afk-thing is hard to determine, and the time frame should be more like 1 hour, not more

 

For all the negative potions/effects

The Joker in itself is sort of a perk, you are lucky to find him, his reward(s) should not be negative. There is no need to constantly seek to balance things out.

how about

 

Exp potion= 50-500 exp?

Haul potion gives 100 emu to carry cappacity for 1 hour

no Pick Potion

To replace pick potion

Skill increase potion Increases a random skill by 10lvs for 1 ingame hour

 

Funny Potion

Makes you look like joker for 1 ingame hour

That's worthless, it is maybe funny, but you can't do things with it!

So, than you found the joker only for a weird 1 hour skin...

I'm not sure what I expected but certainly not what he is! But yeah, it was a huge letdown to finally see him.

I think he needs a makeover as well.

I realize that no one has any incentive to search for the joker right now. I am wondering how many people would start exploring when they see a message "<insert name here> found the joker and got a steel two edge of ice" instead of his current crappy prizes. Of course, you would want a low chance of having good prizes, but at least have SOME!

a pickpoint to me right now is worth around 3.5 million experience points. NO WAY should pickpoint be just given out for finding joker. Its totally unfair. thats my 2 cents worth.

Yeah, all suggestions, seems cool. I remember my 2 first jokers i got a few gold coins and a bread. These days i got a steel shiel, not wonderful, but at least useful.

It would be cool a Joker with joker cloathes and look. :angry:

After lvl 110 oa, you need 3.5million exp to lvl up. In the top 50 page there are 9 people on those conditions. Pickpoints start to get rare after lvl 50 so its really unfair to joker give one for free.
