My idea

Recommended Posts

well i just thought that there should be a proper story line for el, and there should be beliefs, and heros with a bit of myth, and then people should be able to choose hwat they believed happened.

My first idea is to have books that players can read, like you use the book and the pages open so the player can read the text inside, nothing is gained from these books in stats wise, but then there could be passages that help in certan quests, like: in a book there could be a passage saying "the fire breather of the mountins of portland resides now by the sea." and in a quest a person could ask i seek a dragon that was known in portland by the great mountin" so reading the books can be insitefull and interesting.

This is my glossery so far

Talon - A battle mage of ledged who fought in the Great War to rid the earth of Dragons and what they thought was a threat to their world.

Sweet maiden – The ship that Talon Served on as a boy, it was also used in the great war

Extar – A part of the ocean that sailors fear where Spirits from sunken ships, maroons, and any other sea deaths roam, seeking their vengeance on the living for pain caused in their life. It is a place where ships drift, no one knows why, or how some of the ships get there but the greatest belief is that the spirits drag ships there to rot, and for the crew to turn on each other and join the damned souls.

Francis Ontal – The author of the adventures of Talon, the brave battle mage of legend, no one has ever claimed to have seen this author, for no one knows what he looks like.

My first story idea.

This is a tale of a great noble mage. As a child ‘Talon’ was a sailor, but he gained his main trade when the ship he was on lost its weather witch, she was struck by mysterious force which was never known, but she died, and that’s all that needs to be told in this story.

The Boat with no witch has no protection from the battering of the sea, the spirits, or pirates. So this ‘Sweet Maiden’ was swept from her course as if she was possessed by the great sea god himself.

Swaying, swerving, the ship was never even calm enough for the crew to sleep, these were all masters of the sea and lived aboard a ship all their lives, yet in this unsettling time they could not sleep. The ship would every so often shunt from leaning one way to the other in an instant, when this happened the crew would be catapulted through the air, the cargo would lift and hit the floor with a heavy crash, shaking the ship, seeming as the ship would roll at any moment the captain shouted out that all men aboard wore lifelines. After a week of fighting the course that had been set by unknown means the men were exhausted, for they had no sleep, and were only given rations, for they could be at sea for months, maybe they would never leave, but they were going to try, but at this time they could only lift their hands enough to drink.

As the two weeks crawled by for ‘Talon’ he studied the books of the witch, weather weaving, creature charming, and spirit rest spells were all learned carefully, this was not common, for it takes some of the most powerful mages in the world months to learn even the most simple of spells and these spells were not of the average wizard, they were of a specialist magic type, of which only strong wizards could master.

One day he emerged from the witches chambers, strode to the front of the ship, stood there proud and tall over the great oceans of ‘Extar.’ He spoke, not only in words but in spirit, these were powerful words, thundering through the sky resembling divine voice, you could also feel them in your mind, touched by them, feeling there every word with all your heart.

The sea calmed, the spirits subsided in a howl of screeches, and the ship stood still. Silence is all that could be heard, for ‘Talon’ not only took control of the ship, he also enchanted the sea to direct the ship to its destination. He stepped back from the front of the ship and sat down in a sort of relief, the crew all joined him, and for the first day of this calm they slept, a deep sleep, deep enough to forget about the experience of the past three weeks, and a deep enough sleep for them to not notice a small child slip aboard from another vassal.

As ‘Talon’ woke in his cell, he sat up and wondered what had happened, looking around, he was on the ‘Sweet Maiden’ but he was now in the hold with the rest of the crew, he was lucky that the invaders did not know of his power, for if they did he would have been killed on sight, a mage in a cell is a threat and the bars no match for him, but he kept silent, others asked why he would not do anything, and all he told them is “my time for my matters is my own, but do not fear for I will act at the time that I am meant to, patience is one of the only allies I have at the moment and I wish to pay respects.â€

Two days passed, and still ‘Talon’ sat there, not trying to escape, but sitting and waiting. There was a flash of light blinding everyone on the ship, and as people could see again ‘Talon’ was no longer there. He had disappeared.

The voice again could be heard, the one which touched your soul, sounds of a ship crashing against the waves began, he had done it, he had killed the enemy and sunk there ship. A few hours later he came and opened the cell.

The ‘sweet maiden’ was there, the ship was home, the crew cheered and screamed. The experiences were now behind them and they all thanked ‘Talon’ for there services. All of the seamen from the voyage decided to stay on land and retire to small woods, or out of the way cottages.

All the stories that are published by me are taken from first hand experiences, and I have worked with ‘Talon’ thought the creation of this book and the many other books in this collection. The story is true.

Author: Francis Ontal

now people can read this, but then there will be another book written by another person which shows talon to be a coward and a backstabber, kinda like the thing i said about making their own opinion.

there can also spin quests from the past, to find talons lost items, and things like meet the dragon. which is another stoy im working on at the mo, but its not finnished,, i will post it when im done. well these are my first ideas,

I know this is kinda vage but message me with what you think, or iff you dont understand anything, or iff you have ideas to improve it. toodles, lol :hehe: i would really like to here replys, and what you think so please leave posts

please add to the story, add storys that would work with it

first off... the whole message in colour/bold is hard to read. so I removed that.

well i just thought that there should be a proper story line for el,
we got one of them
and there should be beliefs,
them too
and heros with a bit of myth,
and that!
and then people should be able to choose hwat they believed happened.
mhmm

:hehe: we have that already. and there's chatter in the forums about how more are coming, so even not having seen them in-game isn't an excuse
but then there could be passages that help in certan quests

and this is/will be done too, as required by the quest & quest team

okay, so the last one you didn't have reason to know about... but the rest you should have

I believe what ttlanhil is trying to say, though it might seem harsh (I don't think he's trying to sound this way), is this:

While we appreciate you trying to help, the ideas that you came up with at time have already been thought of. Currently they are in the process of implementation, even. A few minutes of looking around the storylines forum would have been a great help to you as it would have saved you the time of typing all that out and allowed you to come up with other productive ideas.

Your eagerness to help, though, is valued and if you would like to help out further, please let us know. We're always looking for more help from eager individuals.
