The only difference between your error log and mine was the invaled sound number. I found that the files do not exist or are mislabled. Even when I replaced/relabled/created the files it wants I still can not log in. I thought it might be my video card but our cards are different. So I am not alone but I still have no answers. Just letting you know there are more out there.

Error: Can't open file "./textures/fontv.bmp" (*/font stops at 4)

No Anim: ./animations/player_slash1.caf (*file there but will not read)

(No Anim: ./animations/player_slash1.caf was repeated at least 500 times.)

No Anim: ./animations/canine_pain.caf (*there is canine_pain1 but not this)

No Anim: ./animations/canine_pain.caf

Error: Can't open file "./textures/particle5.bmp" (* /particle stop at4)

Error: Can't open file "./textures/particle6.bmp"

Error: Can't open file "./textures/particle7.bmp"

Error: Can't open file "quest.log" (*no such file)

It's not the video card. Merrick and I use 100% the same computers. The boxes came in side by side. Same configuration and it works fine here.

hey guys to fix this just "make" the files it says your missing by copieing like

thats the same problem i just helped sirdan with

and heres how we fixed it

for the fontv go into your el/texture file

and make a copie of font.bmp and rename it fontv.bmp

then open note pad and make a bland save for quest_log.txt

for the 3 particals there in textures also just copy 4 or 3 and rename it for each one you dont have (i dont have them eather so i cant send)

then in animations copy the canine_pain1 and rename it

then open note pad and make a bland save for quest_log.txt

In other words...

Open notepad

Click file - Save as - Then type in file name quest.log -

Save it in your EL file (Usually C:\Program Files\Eternal Lands)

That's it.

w00t, after following your instructions (and disabling my Norton's ^.^;; ) I got all the way past the log in screen until it shows a black screen and says it experinces an error and shuts down. However, even after following your instructions on "quest_log.txt", I still get that same error. It is the only error I have left lol.

I have the same problems as you guys.

But I believe it's possible to enter the game when you deactivate your (Norton) antivirus.

Once you're inside, you can activate it again.

It worked for me yesterday!

I will try it again now that I made the changes written above !

EDIT: it works without the Nortan activated!

My errorlog now only says this:

No Anim: ./animations/canine_idlel.caf

Error: Can't open file "quest.log"

The Canine_idlel thing is new

The quest.log might be because i named it quest_log before. will try changing it.

I get those player slash, particles 5,6,7 quest log, canine pain, fontv... alot.

Player slash is the animation of a player attacking, I literally can't even see it.

Particles don't affect much, most likely.

Quest log is because I deleted the old one.

Canine pain... no clue.

Fontv probably when you change fonts in options, and it shows like a square.

Upgrading to catalyst 5.8 (ATi video drivers) solved my problems. maybe it will help you too, see: http://www.ati.com
